Ouch - that would be over $1,000 a month for electricity at the prices here. I'm surprised your local law enforcement hasn't raided you looking for the "grow op." 🙂

If your going to keep that up and you own the property you should consider getting a Solar setup. It would pay for itself very quickly.

Looks like WCG may be up soon. Ugly failure - looks like the Dell Server motherboard died and they likely corrupted their RAID trying to get it working again. Why anyone uses hardware RAID these days is beyond me.

Up front solar cost is huge to make any meaningful dent but I'd like 2.

Wish I could deduct electricity use cost on my taxes for BOINC, but it's not a business and not charity donation

Jan 13th I started to do some BOINC and I of course joined the LTT Team.

Specifically projects for Einstein at Home and tried / am trying to do some for the WCG, but that hasn't been going well lately....

Really impressed with the CPU Control that BOINC gives you. I wish that F@H did that!

Not much of a Gamer….. But I have thing about F@H that may be a little over the top.   See my builds here

I'm alive.  Need to get around to back to some crunching.  Life been busy.

Oh crap...so team sign ups already pass for the BOINC Pent.  😔

Edit:  Wait, re-reads.....02 May.  Darn, okay, should be able to still get team sign up.  Ugh, I need more coffee.

Anyway, good time to stress out the 5800X some more.

Darn, ya kinda tempting me to go look at what some Xeons for x99 are going for now.  Still got a x99 mobo floating about I could rig up.  Though, oof, the temps down here are already cranking up.  I'm really going to have to figure up something for this Pent where I don't over heat the house.

Unfortunately I just realized I won't have the money in time, as I need to buy a couple of things for the studio this month. Oh well should have it for next year.

I really wanna get the 22 core and a 16 core for my AM4 platform. But we will see because they aren't really needed yknow

Other then Einstein@home, what other BOINC projects use the GPU slot? I prefer to move over to a BOINC project that is more along the lines of cancer research like what World Community Grid is doing, but it seems like they only do CPU? Which is fine because I like to fold using BOINC over F@H due to the much better CPU control that BOINC offers.  But.... I'd like to make use of the GPU there, or I can just keep going like I am and run BOINC on the CPU and F@H on the GPU.

World Community Grid has OpenPandemics GPU work units but they are few and far between.

Well, uh, it's a paid subscription to the forum…

Also, what's your BOINC username?
