I'd pick the TXM over those two *any* day for reasons exhaustively spoken above regarding the Focus+ issues and given the TXM is an extremely solid unit.

There's some discrepancies in Tier A Thermaltake links and their respective sources:

1) Link to 'DPS Gold' leads to Smart DPS G, meanwhile links in sources under 'DPS' lead to Toughpower DPS G/Toughpower DPS G RGB [-1- -2- -3-]. Can anyone confirm that 'Smart DPS G' series is indeed Tier A?

2) 'Toughpower Grand Gold' is listed under Tier A, but doesn't have a link to pcpartpicker. I believe it's meant to lead to PSU that is labeled as 'Toughpower Gold' is sources [-1- -2-]. There's also a 'Toughpower Grand RGB' under Tier B, which is another Gold-certified PSU. It would be nice to specify more clearly that model in Tier A isn't an inferior RGB version. And one more thing about the latter: amazon reviews are filled with horror stories of fried components or entire systems on the very first PSU usage.

You never have explained why you think this should be different, the only thing you've said that's true is that you like Seasonic.

 

So please, tell us something we haven't heard yet. Try to explain why it should be in a higher tier, based on something that's not just "Seasonic is a good company"

I explained it many times, you rely on one bad review where they show 268mV on 120% load ( obviously measurement error on pceva because no one in other reviews confirmed it even on 130% load) and some bad opinions about the first revisions of FX out of thousand good. Actually you moved Asus Strix based on FX to higher tier so define yourselve because it is misleading ;)

It's been explained. Several times. I recommend you go back a ways and re-read through some of this thread. Yes, it will be time-consuming, but the info is there. There's more to it than what you're assuming. ;)

I brought this up a while ago, was ignored, and managed to forget until now. It may have even been on the old thread...

 

Regardless, I disagree with D+ and C as categories given their definitions. As stated, D+ units are only dangerous in HIGHLY unlikely situations such as if you were building a system based on very early revisions of the ATX standard when CPU's ran off the 5v rail. In a modern system they are perfectly usable, if not bottom barrel units. Being acceptable is not a failure, as a D+ is considered to be.

 

IMO, D+ should be moved to C and C should be moved to C+. I think it better represents where the units actually stand, as in reality if you were to be going all out dirt cheap on a new system with something like a Ryzen APU, the market for low end PSU's, you would be 100% totally fine with a D+ unit. Though, due to D+ being a "fail" grade in education, most people see those as failed products when they in fact are not.

actually no, the fix is what's causing the issue. the pre-fix ones had OPP too low, the fix has it too high

Oh, imagine a shitstorm if they would've pulled warranty on Focus FX. Of course they didn't. Still, Focus FX are discontinued, End-of-Production in fact, not EoL because there's still warranty, but that aside.
