It was a joke about the swordfish aircraft used being very low power, much like many on the LTT folding team.

Also it was actually scuttled, not sank directly from enemy fire

Technically it wasn't the same engagement as the one that sunk it was a few days later.

But still, going off of how the current situation with leaving the EU is going the hood is prime example of the British in the modern day.

It looks like there might be problems with one server (155.247.166.220), that may be the cause of our problems. At least there are multiple reports pointing towards server. It loads WUs slow and sometimes downloads freeze or fail.

It seems i have been assigned that server too, and my download is about 15-20 seconds, which is no problem since it finishes before the previous WU finishes.

I've been getting allot of 14180 units though.

You are not using a VPN or anything right?

is there a way for us to blacklist the affected work server so we can continue contributing until it's fixed?

technically it's against the ToS to blacklist a server to select other WU's, but i don't see that they would take issue with blacklisting a server so you could get WU's in the first place - provided you removed it once the issue was fixed. it's not like we're selectively ignoring WU's, we're ignoring a server that's malfunctioning and stopping us from downloading ANY wu's

It appears to be two servers at Temple University and they are aware of, and working on the issue and have lowered the Assigment weight of the servers which should lessen the impact.

Damn your system paused uses more power than mine does at full power ?

Those meters are for the house, so idle wont just be that PC. Still, the delta between idle and load is indicative of how much power the GPU is taking under load, after PSU efficiency.

That makes a lot more sense

I'll be running at around 3kW for folding month so 2520kWh over the 35 days of the event at $0.13Cdn/kWh so $327.60 on the electricity bill.

At least I shouldn't have to turn the heat on in the house though so I'll likely save $50 in Gas

I don’t wanna know what the bill will be at mine.. it’s €0.25c/kWh .

No idea how much power my pc is using, not sure how to calculate that

Our electricity runs between 8 and 15 cents per kWh based on time of day. $0.13 is the average price with all surcharges.

The wattage of your GPU + and additional 50W for the rest of the hardware unless you're CPU folding as well then:

GPU Wattage + 1.4*(CPU TDP) + 30W or thereabouts

or use a Kill-a-Watt meter or connect a UPS via serial and query that

I'm getting fed up of slots not downloading WUs!!!!!

Yeah this issue is definitely getting annoying.

FAH uses memory on the gpu more than the actual video engine right? so can I oc my gpu memory to get more ppd?

gpuz reports that my memory load is 18% while video engine load is 0% but the memory used is only like 350mb. (perf cap reason: pwr)

is this how it should be? I feel like the gpu could handle a lot more WU if it loaded the memory more

Fah does use gpu memory in certain WUs to store some temporary info while computing different frames. It is much more important though that memory is stable instead of fast if memory is unstable it will have to redo the frame when it goes through its check resulting in lower qrb because of wasted time. But that being said some small improvements in ppd can  be had from mild mem overclocking.

It's a pretty tight fit tho.. guess no real overclocking untill they get water.

You might have just hit a golden WU.

The PPD database shows about 400kPPD for an R9 Fury and 500kPPD for the Fury X

and @Spotty I'm onto another unit now, "Project: 14249", and it's still in the low/mid 600k range
