Thread For Tech Quickie Video Suggestions

I was thinking a video about different RAM frequencies and the pros and cons of mixing different frequencies and sizes (2GB, 4GB, etc.). I've been thinking about this (getting myself some new RAM maybe) and there's videos all over the internet to help with it, but I'd like to hear your opinion. I know it would help out a lot of people and myself personally.  :)

Could you do a check quickie on the different audio formats and connectors analog HDMI optical I'm connecting my xbox through my TV with HDMI and connecting to an old receiver with optical and I'm want to know if I can get 5.1 out of that. yeah

Well yeah you can get 5.1/7.1 through an optical audio (SP/DIF) connection, depends on your receiver, audio devices.

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

What the heck is "FinFET"?  Seriously.  Is a "16nmFF" actually 16nm, or is it just another word for 20nm?  I would love to see a Fast as Possible on this!

The old thread in the vBulletin forum got lost in the migration (don't worry I still have access to it and I'll still look at it) so I'm creating a new one.

Guidelines

1. Video should be possible to watch in 1-2 minutes.

2. No elaborate props. If we can't shoot it in the white box with a couple of demonstrative pieces, it's probably not feasible.

3. Keep it simple! The idea here is to simplify computer concepts to the point where your mom can understand it. Not looking for "how to peel the ramspreaders off your memory"

I will read these suggestions, but I may not reply to this thread very often. That doesn't mean I'm not paying attention, it just means I'm busy creating lots of new video content

I have an older reseaver and there has the lights that show up saying is using all 5 speakers but I don't hear a difference so it's probably my receiver I have some old Yamaha natural sound HTR-5630

That is too easy of a question. It is just a different frequency. 2.4ghz is made for many devices running on that same frequency without any devices crossing. 5ghz is the same but made for phones and small devices that don't have as big of an antenna and need a higher frequency to get through your walls or where ever it is.

That is too easy of a question. It is just a different frequency. 2.4ghz is made for many devices running on that same frequency without any devices crossing. 5ghz is the same but made for phones and small devices that don't have as big of an antenna and need a higher frequency to get through your walls or where ever it is.

2.4ghz penetrates material far better than 5ghz. However, 2.4ghz is a more commonly used frequency (house phones, microwaves, bluetooth, etc...) usually are all on the 2.4ghz band, plus far more wireless networks are on the 2.4ghz band (and I believe 5ghz also supports more channels) making 5ghz the better choice for crowded apartment buildings. 

 

2.4ghz supports up to Wireless-N, whereas 5ghz supports up to Wireless-AC.

I have an older reseaver and there has the lights that show up saying is using all 5 speakers but I don't hear a difference so it's probably my receiver I have some old Yamaha natural sound HTR-5630

Did you set the audio to output 5.1 Dolby/DTS on your Xbox?

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

You could also make a good main channel video on Egpu performance compared to to the same gpu in a desktop.
