Temperamental Stickdift on XBox One controller on PC

Hello,

I am currently having a stick drift issue on my Xbox one wireless controller. However it is different to any other stick drift I have encountered before. It isn't there permanently however every now and then when the stick is not interacted with for around a second the camera just starts panning up and has to be reset by touching the stick again. Just to clarify this is the right stick. This happens between games as well as on the Xbox recalibration tool.

The controller itself is about 18months old and a very similar thing happend to it's predecessor and I though it was just a bad controller but now it's happened again.

Any advice on what might be causing this issue and any potential fixes would be much appreciated. I have got a video of it but it's to big to post here and not sure what the rules are on links
