i7 6700 Price?

 Anyway, my friend is in dire need of a CPU and MOBO, and he asked if I have anything laying around and I have an i7 6700 laying around with a motherboard to go with it. I'm a nice friend (I'd like to think) but I'm not willing to just give it away, what do you think would be a fair price to ask for it? Thanks in advance!

Well the i7 6700 still is a slightly better CPU than a Ryzen 5 1500X but it's also older and used... so I'd price it around what you can find the R5 1500X new at most.

Seeing as the chips rivals an Ryzen 5 1500X/2400G, I think second hand the price of that chip would be about 100 USD max, but maybe even a bit less with Ryzen 3000 coming up.

I'd do $150 for the CPU/Mobo.

Edit: I upped it from $100.  The 6700 is being Ebayed for $170-$200, so I halved that to $100 and added $50 for the motherboard.

what mobo as if it a z170 with an older bios you can still oc that non k cpu via blck giving more value

Please note I changed my amount.  It's still a good price to a friend without giving the thing away.

 

Then again, if he's near a Microcenter, he'd be a fool not to go with a Ryzen 1600.

You could argue with a Ryzen 2400G, wich is a bit above 100€, but not much more. the 200€ that @Tristerin quoted is already on the highest end...

The Board you said you have also look rather low endish...
