I find the best way to convince people is to let them come to the conclusion themselves rather than trying to argue with them. I usually just state facts and the pros and cons and often times they end up agreeing with me.

I would show them the Ibuypower website so they can see how much more you can get for less.

Before Dell bought them they had an app on their site to show you how much more powerful their computers were to yours. It was how I gauged the power of my builds. My rigs always destroyed them.

Show him a parts list and build for him, would be fun. Pull the config he wants and make it by parting it out, show him the savings (don't forget tax and shipping when factoring in price difference)

https://pcpartpicker.com/

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You're in Green Bay, right? Tell him that the official color of Alienware is purple.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

It's really up to them. Some people like building computers, some don't.

The most you can do is explain to your friend what to look for, but it's hard to change someone's mind.

The idea that "Alienware = bad" really only resonates among those who care about those things. Many people who buy an Alienware for the aesthetic don't care that they could get something else.

It's really not that big of a deal.

It's not they wanted to get a Mac or anything...

What's wrong with dell?

its more of that alien ware is really expensive and the one he wants is outrageously expensive where he could get another computer that is  the same price for much more power
