Like the background music! Some LTT videos seem like they could use it and it's cool that it has been added. The music could be a tad bit quieter since it becomes distracting after a while, but overall, this is a really good integration of background music. About the OP3, it seems like a phone in a price range that I'd be willing to get!

So I guess it can join the ZenFone 2 and the Nexus 6P in my "would have considered but it's too big" list of phones. It's like as smartphones progressed, people hands have kept growing larger.

I think in here background music is annoying especially as it is so loud. In latest channel super fun on vessel too loud music ruined the end for me as I wanted to hear the answer. Please don't make it regular or at least tone it down.

I'm going to be brutally honest, I don't like the music in the background. And I'm not usually the sort of person who freaks out when things are changed. Without the music LTT videos usually feel kind of like you're just some friends responding when I asked whether or not I should buy a thing. That's just the tone LTT videos usually take. But with the music it seems more commercial.

 

I'll put it this way. Someone telling you how good the latest iPhone is would be just that. Someone telling you how good a the latest iPhone is with music in the background? That's an iPhone ad. I know that's not what you're doing here and I know you guys are still producing the same content. But over the years my brain has learnt that music + product = ad. I can't unlearn that. So it makes me not at all trust what you're saying about a product when music is in the background.

A really good review this time. The music seems to be really polarizing people, but I really like it. Also this review seemed like it wasn't rushed like the G5 review. I mean for example he says about how great it is that it supports RAW, has a full manual mode, 4k, etc. But on the G5 review it is only described as " A kick in the balls after coming from S7 and 6S", despite it having similar features for the camera. The 3 seems like they finally made a phone I am truly interested in.

just ordered, my lg g2 has been dead for nearly a year now and kept waiting for the right phone to come along. this is probably as close as it gets, i will miss my back buttons tho. great review, although i dont quite get why you discarded the negatives so easily in this review where you absolutly hammered them in other phones.(non front facing speakers, volume rocker/on/off button placement).

I'm not against background music in general. However, I don't like it when it is playing while Linus is talking.  It's kind of distracting actually.  This is a review, so the focus should be the reviewer's voice along with the visuals. Having music over the dialogue is just too much imo.  The music in the beginning was also too loud.

 

Less is more, folks.

The worst thing about this review is the background music. I don't mind the music as such, but it was way too loud while Linus was talking. Its very distracting.

Other reviewers said the camera was pretty standard and not the best, maybe linus was a bit too nice? And personally I wouldn't use this phone without a dbrand skin, looks too much like an iphone/htc.

I'm gonna throw my hat into the ring for the background music opinions and say that I liked it, save for the really loud mastering and the fact that you guys (intentionally/unintentionally) totally copied MKBHD's music style.

 

Glad to hear the OnePlus 3 is such a good phone. I lag behind in the phone game, but maybe I'll pick it up off eBay next year.

Great job adding the thermal image shot that verifies that the phone actually is way cooler than the HTC 10 when charging. I really like it when claims like that gets validated without just trusting the manufacturer.

I have to agree with the other people here though. The music was one notch too loud.

 

The OnePlus 3 looks like a great device. Fun fact, OnePlus totally crapped their pants when it came to the price of the OnePlus 2 in Sweden, and as a result the OnePlus 3 is actually cheaper than the 2 where I live. I just wish they would have made one of the SIM slot a MicroSD card slot instead. Not as big of a deal since the base model is 64GB (which I think all high end phones should be at this point), but it's still something I would have liked.

That device is all about compromise.

 

They skipped the micro SD card slot. That is something that is so cheap to implement, that companies such as ZTE are able to make a $40 smartphone that has dual sim and micro SD support. http://electronics360.globalspec.com/article/3845/exclusive-video-teardown-zte-s-40-android-smartphone

 

They could have easily added a micro SD card slot.

 

They also skimped on the speakers, (no stereo), and only a 1080p display.

 

In terms of value, the ZTE axon 7 is fer better.

Better warranty (2 years, and covers accidental damage with free shipping both ways).

Better display, speakers, camera (based on the noise at ISO 100 from sample images).

 

Though the 1+3 has a better button layout. (Why would ZTE get rid of the capacitive buttons? Horrible move there)

At first I was like ehhh then later I was like I like the music. In the first half lower it by about .7db then it would be golden

Linus when reviewing a phone I love the D brand skins and I have a couple myself but I would like to see at least one shot of the naked phone just so I know how it looks without the skin. 

 

PS: I have D Bran skins on my laptop and phone and love both. They lost both shipments and had to resend them. costumer serves is really good and got them sent back out in no time and gave me an extra skin of my choosing.  I would give D Brand 4/5

I'm used to a phone with wireless charging.The oneplus 3 looks pretty good but as it doesn't have wireless charging I won't buy it. It's a step in the wrong direction

No MicroSD slots is a huge minus for me.

I like to load up my phone with movies and music for on the go and 64gigs internal storage is not enough.

120gigs internal storage I could deal with but 64gigs is not enough on its own.
