that is not what i hear and read, Broadbent is talking about running low settings to run on the old vive on a 1080ti.. all forums talking about even the lowest seetings on the vive pro in project cars struggles to run 90 fps, and it feels really wierd.. 

 

though it was easier than a 4k monitor to drive, and really feel i need some more sense of opponents when i run multiclass...

Recorded some o.4.1 footage today because I definitely didnt accidentally delete my 0.3.5 footage by accident when reinstalling my OS.

 

In short the 488 is hecking easy in all regards. The huracan still has a very vague front end and takes a bit of work to drive on the limit. The bentley has the best overall FFB and as it stands is now my favourite non-ferrari. The bmw now seems to want to snap incredibly easy whenever on throttle.

 

But yeah sub 2 minute laps in the 488 at the nurburgring with little effort compared to the others.

The basis for Johnr77s work is aerial lidar data which should hopefully mitigate most of the guesswork that plagues the two somewhat competent attempts so far.

 

Also for an F1 track, this is surprisingly fun. If we were still using the old kerb and tire model we would be dying several times per lap.

 

 

Also shadowplay stutters so back to OBS for me.

Damn, i need my daily dosage of sim racing. TV broke and i can't use my sim rig, maybe need to wait till mid January.

Hopping back into PC2 I'm so quickly disappointed by the sounds again but I still love how the game drives. Easily doing 1:38s without trying though the KERS and DRS is auto. Pace wise same as the lmp2s irl but I think the g57 is faster still. Really wanted to like the Vulcan but they butchered the V12s... Same for the fxxk (such an orgasmic sound irl).

Went back and did hte fxxk and the vulcan. Not really happy with either but theyre there. The fxxk is very twitchy on power and the kers does some funny stuff, and never seems to fill properly. The vulcan - thats just plain slow. Disappointing really.

Hopped on RF2 for a bit, and have to say the graphics still dont look too impressive. VR makes it worse but the lure of a 720S, GT3R, and potential vantage is tempting.

Running a Single screen setup at the moment a Sony X85C 4K 55inch with my N1 Rseat, Fanatec Clubsport setup.

 

I really don´t know if i should exchange the 1x55" with 3x40inch 1920x1080 panels, or go VR, i tried the HTC VIVE and the VIVE PRO, and the VIVE is simply to blurry for me, but it seems the PRO demands so much of you´re pc when running sims, have anyone had any luck with that, and what are you´re specs.

I've got 3 24" I jam right up next to my wheel and I'm as happy as I could be with it. If I had my absolute way I'd probably go for 27" curved and get a full cockpit rigged up so it's a bit more stable, but, eh.

 

I've only tried the rock climbing demo on Oculus at a Best Buy and wasn't blown away. I'll stick with my triples. It's just got way more pros than cons, especially if you don't have a full dedicated rig like I don't.

1. Triple monitors work in FAR more games than VR.
2. The resolution isn't immediately noticeable as a hindrance... maybe at 40 inches it might be, but that also depends on the distance.
3. If it's not a dedicated setup, you've got a hell of a workstation.
4. It doesn't weigh your head down or make your face sweaty.
5. It's a small thing, but I have a 5.1 so I have my speakers mounted under my monitors at 30 degrees, being the optimal mounting placement.
6. You still get a far better FOV and peripheral vision compared to a standard 16x9 and probably also VR. For all intents and purposes, seeing up and down isn't very important, but even that gets mitigated when you go for 40 inch tvs.
7. It's cheaper.

The biggest downside for VR is that it usually just "works" in that it displays image. AC, iRacing, and PCars 2 (Despite it being somewhat broken) support actual multi monitor setup, but for me with AC it introduces a lot of stutter so going around turns makes it look like a slideshow despite 70+fps. It can get pretty unplayable. BeamNG at ~30 feels a lot smoother.

Just got this delivered today, ordered it black friday, it is rather nice compared to the old F1 style wheel, now i just need to figure out what to do with all the buttons.

Unrelated but

 

Picked up a PUBG XB1 controller and PC dongle to replace my wired XB360 gamepad for when Im casual-racing. Have to say, this feels entirely different and I have to retune my trigger discipline entirely. The buttons and d-pad are all lighter to actuate and shorter travel, the sticks have much less resistance but now have haptic feedback. The trigger is the biggest change, as you cant instantly fell where in the travel you are BUT I seem to be hitting 90% travel more accurately, more often, to the point where I'm overslowing compared to the XB360 pad.

I really like the elite controller because you can extend the analog sticks... more finesse when driving

You and I now have the same wheel then.  

 

Coming from a G27 before, this is pretty much very similar in quality, though it does feel a bit more robust and a bit heavier than my G27 did. So glad I can use the G27 pedals with it though. Really missed pedals with actual resistance and the clutch. 

 

Spent a good 1-2 hours last night tweaking the FFB settings in PCars 2 to get it feeling just right. I like the smoothness of the belt drive. Quite happy with my purchase, especially considering the price ($199 CAD on sale). This will keep me happy for quite a few years to come, I hope (as long as it holds up well).  

 

Going to order the adaptor to use the G27 shifter as well.

technically same wheel with different look and button layout and the TMX i think had only 900 degrees of rotation instead of 1080 ... oh and the xbone or ps3/ps4 compatibility 

 

saving up for the fanatec handbrake and shifter .. .and eventually the DD1 wheel
