What do you mean? It's not difficult, you just have to get used to using the outside of the thumbstick as opposed to the indent/bowl in the thumbstick.

Unless you use the keyboard, then that sucks.

With the controller its almost impossible to counter oversteer. You cant apply enough steering lock on it.

That's a limitation of most road cars, they don't have enough steering angle at full lock to save a high-angle drift. That's why drift cars often have modded steering components.

You can counter oversteer, but you have to catch it before the angle of attack is too far. ;)

It doesnt matter how far gone the car is.

I can correct just fine when using my friends G27 but its impossible on a controller. The car either keeps going round, or flicks back and spins the other way

Yeah, you're right. Countersteering is very difficult.

When you get a wheel, though, you'll really appreciate the difference. I LOVE countersteering sooooooo much every since I got a wheel. Sometimes I will purposely try to oversteer so that I can countersteer, especially around the Nordschleife.

I have yet to play Project Cars (thinking about either getting that or FH3) but wouldn't there be a setting to adjust sensitivity for controllers and/or keyboards?

FH3 will be more enjoyable

PCars does have, and it has deadzone and sensitivity settings for everything, its abit too confusing.

I can most the time, in things like the GT3 cars, its just as soon as the car gets even slightly sideways, thats it.

The slower stuff is way nicer to drive fast in that game

i agree about the slower stuff being easier to drive ... but i dont have troubles countersteering slight slides in the GT3 cars

getting the perfect setup helps as well .. since i do mine to my driving style ... i have 0 problems

An adjustment to the controller sensitivity would probably help. But ultimately, that's the difference in the level of granular control you get with a wheel that you can't get with a controller.

It does actually. Some cars require changing the setup to make them more balanced in drifting situations. Other cars, like the BMW Stanceworks 1m, I found are actually very good drift cars, even with their default setups. Problem is once the tires start to overheat, you have to let them cool down or they just become really greasy and make the car almost undrivable. lol

But yeah, you can drift in PCars, just not at crazy angles of attack. The Evo FQ400 is a fun car for drifting which you actually can  get way out on crazy angles. Being AWD, you just have to flick it and mash the loud pedal. :D

There are a few things happening here:

-slower/street cars have a much more grey limit. You can go beyond and bring them back fairly easily a lot of the time. They are much more forgiving when you get out of shape.

-Faster/race cars have a much more defined limit. Usually once you go beyond that limit, it's usually too late. Not very forgiving at all.

How does that translate to controller vs steering wheel? Well, you can't "feel" what the car is doing with a controller, where as you can with a wheel. Many times with the G27 I have actually felt the car begin to get out of shape and make a correction before the car has even moved or stepped out. Watching from the outside, you might see the car "wiggle" a little, but that's it. With a controller, you often don't know the car is about to lose it until you see it happen - at which point it's often too late to react. And like I mentioned above, the granularity of input you get with a wheel is just far more precise. Sometimes you only need to counter a little, where as other times, you need full lock. ;)

So I was trying out Gamestream on our ShieldTV because I got a new GPU (A gtx 970 that i bought broken on ebay for $130 and then sent off for warranty and received a brand new one :P

To keep it thread related I (and my sister, which is who was playing when i took the pic) did try project cars. Experience was great, pretty much unplayable professionally without a steering wheel though (controller = car all over the place)
IMG_6077.JPG

IMG_6062.JPG

Battlefield 1 Beta was awesome on the big tv. Too bad it's difficult playing shooters with a controller...

IMG_6076.JPG

Civ 5 worked great with a keyboard and mouse plugged in... wireless stuff would be a million times better though im sure!

I wanted to plug in my DFGT and try playing pcars with that on there but I have no place to put it lol. I doubt it would work anyway though lol

Rocket League and The Golf Club are both the best experience I ever had with Gamestream so far. I would love to find a good local multiplayer PC controller-based game (other than rocket league because most people are terrible at it, including me) that makes for fun gaming on the big screen when I have a friend over or something lol.

Also I tried Geforce experience beta and set my resolution to 3840 x 2160 to attempt to stream in 4K (mind you I have CAT 6 (actually CAT 6E, idk why they put that in our house lol) cables going to the shield TV AND my PC so that's no issue). But of course they don't even let you try and it just says "Your pc isnt capable of streaming in 4K blah blah blah" (I was actually playing BF1 @ 60 fps with reduced settings with the 4k upscaling, so they are liars and just want my money for a GTX1080 or something)

If you haven't head of the wheelstand pro I'd recommend you look into it! Should be able to let you use your DFGT while gaming from that TV. Civ on a big screen looks amazing.
