most underwhelming live stream I've ever seen

Well AMD must respond to GTX 800 series.

Primary: Lenovo T61 / Intel Core2Duo T7200 @ 2.2GHz / 3GB DDR2 / NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M / Fedora 22 <<<< THE WHITE KNIGHT

Secondary: Compaq Presario CQ56 / AMD V130 @ 2.3GHz / 2GB DDR3 / AMD Radeon HD 4250 / Windows 8.1 <<< THE FORGOTTEN HERO

This isn't even the shotgun approach anymore it's the nuke from orbit approach putting out twenty different versions of the same CPU and GPU core.

Well AMD must respond to GTX 800 series.

800 series is still a long wait and if amd hasn't refreshed by then which is most likely to happen, a price drop is a better response that this

this is one of the greatest thing that has happened to me recently, and it happened on this forum, those involved have my eternal gratitude http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/198850-update-alex-got-his-moto-g2-lets-get-a-moto-g-for-alexgoeshigh-unofficial/ :')

Well the cooler looks pretty sexy so they got that going for them...

You wish. Thats Asus Strix. I would want AMD to make heatpipe design  even if its blower, at least like HIS with a nice quiet fan.

285 is basicly almost same, with "Price cut" ( 1gb vram and bandwidth cut) and a bit better perf than 280.

Like...tech is now advancing in baby steps.

Considering the fucking retarded name scheme that has been now completely broken, it's more of a "Let's see if we can confuse our customer into buying the wrong card and paying premium"

I thought Intel's name scheme was sort of hard, but AMD's just is ridiculous, the numbers don't even mean anything in terms of preformance even.....

Also this was a bad live stream. It was sooo scripted, and that isnt bad if you don't put "surprises" in it. And don't try to be funny if you aren't. The Green team wins easily when it comes to press events (The Titan Z unvail was alot more fun to watch)

Surface Pro 3 - i7 - 256Gb

Yep. If that is all AMD got for us, Maxwell will pee all over their lineup.

Meanwhile at both Nvidia and Intel...

Whoever AMD uses for marketing, needs to get fired. Whatever agency suggests they keep doing this overhyped bullshit? Should've lost their job ages ago.

Come on AMD.

What a goddamn joke.

What I personally really missed was the PowerPoint Slides, they joked about how boring they are (an obvious stab at Nvidia), but at least then you get some actually info about the card in a sensible and understandable way. This was just a talkshow, and saying specs is a lot harder to follow then to read them on a screen. (although I did miss the first part of the stream so maybe they did show a few benchmarks and stuff then).

The card itself isn't even that bad, great price and good preformance, a very solid mid level card, but the presentation of it was dreadful.

I agree...and that makes me feel old, preferring power point to a live twitch stream, but in our defense a rather weak and crappy one.

Hold on, so the 285 is *worse* than the 280?

That sucks.

And the 280 is cheaper lol
