Intel sent me an early laptop sample and it's……………

On mobile Intel is much more competitive, and they claim their new 10nm+ process for Tiger Lake can take on TSMC's 7nm node... so we've got some benchmarks to run.

Would be interesting to see TB4 vs TB3 comparison with a 3080 eGPU

there is no change. its mostly just a name and requires a few of the option TB3 features to be standard

meh, waiting for the next 2-3 APU families to be out. 2x the cores and what should match or beat this.

3.0ghz is only the base frequency at 28W its more like 1.2 and 1.8 at 12W and 15W

I'd love to see you guys test a probook 445G7/455G7 running a ryzen chip and compare it to the intel one. while HP still in 2020 gives you a 2.5in drive bay over more battery capacity the last gen one has been a great machine.

Hello and welcome.

I came here to say this exact thing.  That segue benchmark graph and the drop-in of the lttstore.com during the intro had me rolling.

I know that this is a niche use case and Intel is aiming for the broad Windows market, but:

Good Graphics from Intel will make these the Holy Grail of Laptops for Linux Users.

Intel is - in stark contrast to Nvidia - great when it comes to open source drivers and has pushed innovation in the past.

Nvidia keeps releasing features in cooperation with Microsoft and not wanting to do anything open source, while AMD does ok.

Why no mention of single core performance differences between tiger Lake and AMD? Not allowed to show IPC difference?
