Been using this wallpaper for years, now. 

Decided to switch things up, made some backgrounds for m'self. Been thinking of doing this for a while, having Japanese sayings or calligraphy as my desktop background.

 

Unsure whether I'm satisfied with the result. Gonna try it out on my laptop for a month or so, and it it passes my fickle test, I might use it on the desktop as well.

• 一拳必殺: Roughly translates to "one fist, certain death," or as Wikipedia puts it, "to annihilate with one blow." It's a karate term, but I'm less interested in the physical application of the phrase, and more interested in the idea of efficiency.
• For the OCD-conscious, the top of the scroll (representing 天, or "heaven") is intentionally longer than the bottom of the scroll (representing 地, or "earth"). Left in this detail because it reminded me of my favorite yuri series, in which they quote Matthew 6:10 ("Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.").
• Neglected the hanging cord because it's late and I forgot.  Might add it in later if it bothers me.

 

麻の葉/Hemp Leaf Pattern (Current Wallpaper):

• The hemp leaf pattern symbolizes growth and vigor, reflecting the durability and rapid growth of hemp plants.
• Hexagonal pattern reminded me of chemical structures (benzene rings).

 

青海波/Wave Pattern:

• The wave pattern represents the ebb and flow of good luck, I think...?
• Colored Version: Not a big fan of it. Yellows of the scroll patterns are too vivid and don't work well with darker background colors, and while it looks fine on lighter backgrounds, it's way too bright for my eyes. Also, desktop icons and text blend in too much with the beige background with this color scheme.
• Muted Version: Pleasantly dark, with a little hint of color. Might use it when I'm feeling whimsical and need a break from the monochrome.
• Monochrome Version: Dark Mode all the things! My only complaint is the black on the scroll's pattern looks a bit too bold for my liking.

 

Original Idea:

• This background lasted for about a day before I got tired of it.
• It's nice in it's own minimalist way, for those who understand or can read the characters. Otherwise, passersby might think the computer's cursed. Imagine if the lettering were in red, lol.

 

Goes without saying that I took some artistic liberties with the scroll design and colors, prioritizing personal preferences over traditional meanings. InB4 I committed some faux pas and get roasted.

everything organized in groups, GOD mode folder is an absolute must instead of digging through win10's horrendous settings system,

video editing stuff in the top, scripts and sides are done in google docs with the rest of the group, I do all the editing in Premier Rush (still learning Premier Pro) and lightroom for product photos, photoshop for thumbnails. 

We're starting up a tabletop game review channel soon and just getting a volume of content available to keep uploads consistent until we post our first video to the public.

 

local multiplayer games in the middle for game nights, most played games in order and the "sometimes when i'm in the mood" games in the middle, forza, batman, sonic are less played but still a lot of fun in smaller stints,

 

then games I'm not allowed to play without the wife present, we're both huge SAO fans so those have to be played together, story of Beyond Human is so compelling it must be played and watched like a movie, Windbound is just pretty so i'll hang out while the wife plays.

It's nothing too crazy, I did use Wallpaper Engine in the past, but my current GPU is an ancient Quadro, so I'd rather not waste what little power it has on that. I am using TranslucentTB though, with it set to clear on my desktop, and blurred elsewhere.
