At 9:15 Linus mentioned the attempt to fill 2TB of memory with Chrome tabs they did a while ago. Was there ever a video published on that? I only saw a clip on social media.

CPU: i7 4790k, RAM: 16GB DDR3, GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

What nobody has bothered to make a BIG DEAL about yet is that Apple is selling these overpriced cheese graters with first gen Skylake Xeons when every reputable workstation/server reseller has been taking orders of the newer stock for months now. Will the thing even work if you drop in a 2nd gen 28 core part???

Doesn't surprise me one bit. This is just Apple being Apple - charging you a premium for last gen tech. Even that $10K RAM is the slowest CAS silicon from Micron. They are making a killing on the markup and are literally banking on the iSheep who know no better.

Why so negative and call torx  "none standard"?

At leas here in north EU you can't hardly buy phillips or flat screws anymore.  It's really annoying that somethings, like computers haven't adopted torx properly yet.

Why would anyone prefer phillips over torx? Not just at computers. Torx are superior to phillips at any occasion. I never owned apple or ever plan to, but using torx is a wise choice.

Thank you so much for the video! @GabenJr this is extremely relevant for the whole Audio Pro industry right now! More than half of my colleagues I know are discussing buying the new Mac and upgrading it to their needs as in most studios and media composers setups this is a dream machine and solves a lot of bottlenecks and makes the workflows smoother (as you only need one computer instead of 2 or 3). Looking forward to more stuff on this, also pretty interesting would be SSD-RAID solutions in the Mac Pro. I have one in my current system and the question raises if I can use it in a new Mac Pro (The current card in a Hackintosh System is the HighPoint RocketRAID 362x Series 6 Gb/s SATA RAID HBA Solution).

If you have more than 500GB on RAM and loading it up everyday would take ages even with the fastest SSDs right now, so those things would as well very relevant for a whole industry sector. Cheers!

Because the stand was really cheap.

People underestimate the color depth and HDR capability that a $999 stand provides.

If you replace the original SSD, you should be able to reinstall macOS in recovery mode fro the internet pressing Shift-Option-Command-R at startup.

It's funny how they go out of their way to bash Apple for it's pricing but end up going off-script and praising pretty much everything hardware-wise and at the end of the day it's very simple: it's expensive because it's well-made.

Do you actually need that kind of polished product for that price? Same with everything Apple probably not but it doesn't mean it's overpriced (being expensive ain't the same as being overpriced - at least I think not English ain't my first language but anyway you get what I mean).

Anyway I gave up watching all those Hackintosh videos for it's nonsensical script but how much time, effort, frustration and actual money were spent there? Wouldn't it be easier to just buy the damn Apple thing in the first place and upgrading it yourself as this video suggests…? I've done it with my iMac which is waaay more difficult so…

I'm not sure what makes you think this is a service he offers.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
