My favorite switch would probably be worn in vintage mx blacks, good vintage blacks can be super nice once spring swapped and lubed, some of the smoothest linears you can get and they sound great as well. My favorite modern switch would probably be late 2016 and early 2017 retooled blacks/silents those are super smooth as well, Favorite stock switch would probably be Gateron Inks, just as smooth as ZealPC Tealio V2s but with a much better spring and sound signature.

I like clicky switches like Kailh Box Jade and Navy.

I like the audible feedback and relatively heavy actuation force.

Thank you both for your great input thank you b emoji and my man Den-Fi  ..... .... b emoji likes the smoother keys and not much tactile and what not.  While Den-FI need to hear that click.  I have Linear and I do make typing mistakes.  There is little effort in hitting the key,, I can type in pure silence you cant even hear me type..... I like it but just getting used to it I guess.  The click audible is a good choice as well.  I see everyone has their own personal preference and what not.

Cherry MX reds, they don't click while i game but they're still nice to press

Thank you Crunken for your great response.  Easy to press exactly.. Man like I said I made soo many errors with BlackWidow until I had enough and tossed it aside.

The G910 I had was soft feel no clicky type and you can make mistakes while typing but not a lot.

Reds. Though, I'd probably like Blacks more, they're hard to find in a nice keyboard.

I hate Blues with a passion. The sound drives me insane. Browns feel like mush.

I'd love to try the Roccat switch, can't recall what they call it but it's supposed to be a short travel Brown but slightly better feel.

Yeah I tried a G910 and ended up returning it, romer G's feel smooth but too light for me.

I'm using MX browns in a HyperX keyboard, the slight feedback is nice, most people say Browns feel awful but I guess it's personal preference.

I also have a Corsair K63 with MX reds which is better for gaming imo.

Out of my fairly limited sample size, my favorite mechanical is probably the Romer-G like what's used in the G Pro TKL. My absolute favorite switch of all though is just my Latitude E4310's keyboard or a 2015 or earlier Unibody MacBook Pro. They're just so damned nice to type on for extended periods of time for me.

I don't really have a preference for any particular switch, but my top 3 are:

Zeal's Tealios V2 - They're 67g linear switches which are as smooth as slicing through butter, are well-weighted with their 67g spring, and sound satisfyingly nice when lubed.

Zeal's Zealios V2 - I use 62g Zealios, they're a tactile switch which has the tactile bump right at the top of the switch keypress and the tactility is so sharp that even when lubed, it's still as tactile as any other tactile switches, even besting Cherry/Gateron Browns.

I would also say Gateron Inks, they're very similar in feel to Zeal's Tealios, except the Inks have a fuller weight on the keypress due to their spring, compared to the Tealios which feels a bit hollow on the keypress. Inks also sound tremendously nice and silky.

i imagine the box switches would be right up my ally but i havent tried them.

i hate roamer Gs with a passion

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Ones that make as little noise as possible. There's nothing that wears me down more than listen to co-workers slam their keyboard keys all day long...

Linear Switches: Currently digging my Gateron Linjar, which I've read to be pretty much Gateron Yellows with a blue housing. I've also tried NovelKeys x Kailh Creams, Zeal Roselios and Cherry Browns. I have a set of ZealPC Sakurios that I still need to try in a board.

Tactile: Outemu Skies for now. I have Halo Trues and YOK Red Pandas to make Holy Red Pandas but I'm too lazy to lube and put them together.

Clicky: I've only had Kailh BOX Navies. I also have some Hua-Jie AK-CN2 (Alps Clones)  but I don't have a Alps board to give a final verdict.

NovelKeys x Kailh Novelias have a special place in my heart since they are my first non-Cherry switch, and they are rose-gold!

I have personally fallen in love with my LightStrike LK Orange linear switches. They are found on Bloody keyboards. I used to use only Ducky keyboards and Cherry MX Blue for typing and gaming. Now I use my Ducky's for work and I use my bloody for gaming. I would hate to write out an essay or report using the bloody keyboard as the key's have VERY short travel and you can mistype quickly. But for gaming it feels much faster then normal keys.

What do you prefer to lube Zealios with? I've only ever tried Tribosys 3204 on my 62g Zealios V2. Wondering if other lubes make a difference.
