I wish I had seen this thread back when it started. Oh well, no time like the present to join in.

I've been actively consuming pony content since November 25th, 2010. I found the show via some of the early 4chan threads that used MLPFiM for image macros. I gave the show a shot, because I had nothing better to do at the time. I loved it, and here I am years later, still loving it.

Fun fact, Tantabus isn't actually a Latin word(nor is Tantibus). The old latin word for nightmare is actually incubo, which is where Incubus comes from.

Have y'all see the season 9 trailer? Nearly got a tear out of me, not gonna lie. Its been interesting to hear people's opinions on what was shown in the trailer.

It would have never even occurred to me to look for a trailer for a new season of My little Pony. How the times have changed.

 

As someone who's been out of touch with the series after season 3, I like that they're apparently still pushing the series forward narratively. Even back in 2013 (?) people thought that the thing was surely going to be over soon, so the fact that they've kept it alive another 6 years while apparently keeping things interesting is quite impressive to me.

 

Ending it sooner rather than later seems like a good idea though. Even in large-scale live-action productions, padding the content in order to generate more revenue mostly ends up being detrimental to the quality of a series as a whole. I'm actually quite interested in what they're going to do in the future. I mean keeping the brand going for what, 10 years at this point definitely speaks volumes as to its profitability. I doubt the corporate side behind it is going to leave the series unreplaced.

 

Anyway, it looks like it could be a fun final, probably somewhat reminiscent of season 4 I'd imagine.

Generation 5 is already being developed, and they're making a lot of changes that I'd argue are for the better.
