Actually, my ex gf was the living embodiment of Fluttershy. She lived up to it, despite not really being a fan of the show. Really upset I messed that up :(

Just over 3 years. They say it takes half the amount of time you were together to move on but...I have yet to. At least I can focus more on my career path and school, but then again, the support from her would be a huge help.

That's a very long time to be together actually.  And there is no set amount of time for an emotional wound to heal, if it ever does. 

 

And yes, emotional support goes a long way, just someone else's presence can be a huge help.

 

If you don't mind me asking, what caused you two to break up?  If that's too personal, I understand.

Because it was my first really serious relationship, I became controlling. However, we were in therapy for it, but she didn't have enough patience (hell, her own mother could see my improvements), instead she went off with some guy she'd been talking to for a few months. After going through that and some other shit (like being ghosted and catfished on Tinder, even cheated on twice) I'm a better person.
