I got a 6700xt for msrp, $512 with shipping and tax from amd direct. I mainly play older games so this should hold me over for a few years.
I bought everything new this year and I’m gonna hold out at least 2 years with what I have now.

Was wondering if the people here that own a Rx 6700xt are happy with the performance of the card or not ?

I have one coming in now (paid msrp) that’s getting paired with a ryzen 5600x and a 1440p 165hz monitor.

Got a gigabyte m32q for my sons ps5 and tested it out on my SX. Want to leave a post here about it Incase anyone is searching they can stumble upon this.

The monitor is awesome. It's huge and it's pretty hefty. 1440p 120hz Vrr worked fine on this right out of the box.

The speakers suck, they get loud so they'll work if you don't wanna do externals or use your headphones, typical monitor speakers here.

Picture quality is really good, I'm impressed with this monitor. Very little blb in the top left of the screen. It's no where near as bad as any of the Asus ips monitors I've tried over the last 3 years.

I play a lot of DBD and MLB the show. The black equalizer works really good and is easy to adjust using a hotkey with the monitors joystick in the back. This made it way easier to see things in DBD since the game is naturally so dark. The game looks very good on the series x, the picture is sharp and what little colors there are they do look good.

MLB the show has been amazing on this monitor. The input lag is low, I keep swinging early on pitches, have to adjust my timing. Response time is also good, recognizing pitches out of the hand on this monitor is pretty easy to do. The game looks great, visually it's very crisp looking and the colors aren't dull. The monitor is huge, using the strike zone cam angle is great, you get a good size view of the zone.

I haven't played any shooters on this yet but will try siege, vanguard, pub g and borderlands 3 on it when I get those tonight and update my thoughts on shooters and this monitor.

The gigabyte M models have been great for me. I used a m27q that had the weird bgr pixel layout, everything else was great.

Got a m32q for my sons ps5 this week and it's been awesome. No issues at all and use the RGB pixel layout.

I just ordered the M32U for my series x today. It's a little pricey but every 4k 144hz monitor is.  I think you'll be happy with the gigabyte they've been great for me

HDR is a pipe dream in 30"+.  They can't even figure out how to get 144hz, 2160p to mainstream adoption.  HDR gucci at a price that doesn't bend you over is like wishing in one hand and shitting in the other.

The game isn't optimized well. I played the beta and it ran poorly, thought they figured it out. Got the game and it still ran poorly so I refunded it.

The 5800x (or 5600x) will have more future because it's faster and will last longer.

I wouldn't buy a motherboard with the expectation for future upgrades anyway.

If you plan to sell the 2700x to help fund the 5800x...sure why not?

If you plan to repurpose the 2700x for something else, sure why not?

If you are going to throw the 2700x in the parts bin when you get the 5800x, don't.

1440p 240hz isn't easy to push with high settings. I use a 2560x1080 200hz ultrawide monitor with my rtx 3070 and I can push most games at that fps without running it on potato settings. I play a lot of old stuff/eSports games tho. Siege, pub g, Apex, rogue company, BF4

Get as strong of a card that you can afford to get. 1440p BF2042 was demanding. I couldn't run 144fps on high settings with a rtx 3070.
I prefer Nvidia over amd due to past issues and dlss is nice to have and more games are supporting it now. The nvenc encoder is a huge + to have if your into streaming
    I'd go 3070/3080 for 1440p 144hz gaming
