I finished my Super Star Destroyer kit yesterday, already ordered a Y-Wing. I've had some extra cash as the insurance on my totalled car came through and they paid out what I wanted which was £500 more than what the replacement car has cost me... and I still have another £350 to come back. Given that the replacement car has only cost me £240 in immediate maintenance as I was able to transfer a load of parts from the old car to upgrade the new one. (same car, even the same colour, but a year newer and 25% fewer miles on it and cost £300 less to buy than the old one did 9 months ago).  So the value of the new one is about £1000 more.  Thankfully I got it from another Honda enthusiast who's looked after it.

So I've used some of that extra money to buy these, and I still have another £150 in birthday money to blow on toys and I'm gonna combine that with any money I get for xmas to buy a butt load more kits in the new year. I feel like having an X-Wing, B-Wing, Snow Speeder, Tie Fighter and perhaps the Tantive IV or a regular Star Destroyer.

I'm gonna need more shelves in my office.

Is anyone interested in a build post... I've been documenting the various stages of the last 2 builds I did... I'm new to building kits again as I'd not done since I was a kid and I'm now 40 and have spare cash to play with.

I've built 2 and have 2 more kits on the way... All Star Wars themed ships.

I'll say now... they're not official Lego but Chinese copies of retired Lego kits that are no longer available. I'm also starting to take an interest in MOC kits that in many cases are far superior to the Lego ones containing 3-4 times as many pieces whilst still being a lot cheaper.

For example the current Lego Star Destroyer is £650 in the UK and is about 5000 pieces, whilst you can get an 11000 piece one that's not much bigger but looks so much better and is around $300 USD.

So here's a couple of pics... let me know if you want more.

Cards in the UK are ALL chip & pin and have been for ages, they're even trialling ones with fingerprint chips in them. You can use contactless pay with these cards on transactions under £30, over that and you need to enter your pin. I think it's the same across the whole of Europe now.

Because of the RFID in cards, I got myself a wallet that blocks the signal so no one could stand behind me and try to read the card data... I recommend everyone does that.

I didn't even bother buying anything with RGB... there is some minor illumination on my motherboard (turned off) and there's a logo on my AIO pump which is set to change colour with temps only.

Aside from that, my keyboard and moused are a mix of red/blue... the KB is all red aside from WASD keys and the very top row, ESC through Pause Break as well as the logo and lighting/lock buttons. My mouse is also red whilst the DPI lights are blue.

That's it... I refused to buy the AIO with RGB and I purchased non RGB Corsair ML fans.... Don't like it, don;t want it... not paying extra for crap I'll only turn off.

I just wish they'd offer one with and one without for those of us who don't like it and would rather save some money.

OK, the first one is S-Video to Component (video and audio/RCA), the second one is a molex to sata power adapter and the last  also looks like an s-video to component (RCA video only)

    As for the rest
4: S-video to component adapter (RCA)
5: Molex to PCIe for a gpu
6: IDE lead (old style HDD)
7 USB & mini Fire wire, would slot into one of the spaces on the back of the case.

The greatest thing about the internet is that it gives everyone a voice....

The WORST thing about the internet... is that IT GIVES EVERYONE A VOICE!!!

When it allows unmetered hate and bile to be spewed out across the world, it's a problem... When it allows discourse and collaboration, sharing and helping each other... it's great.

The problem is that it's equal parts of both right now and these tech companies are simply not doing enough to stop the bad and promote the good... they created this monster and are refusing to deal with it... So some one needs too... Legislation is the right way to do that, but it can't be toothless and it can't be vague and open to loopholes and get out clauses... it also needs to be so harsh that flouting it isn't profitable for these companies.... that flouting it cost them more than it can make through advertising and theft of private data.

Will that happen with these UK laws... not a fucking chance. It's all populist bullshit designed to appease the dumbed down masses who believe what they are force fed.

So what's the solution... I don't have a fucking clue. I am not smart enough to figure it out... But I do know that there isn't a politician out there capable of doing what's right and what's actually needed. they only care about their own power and enrichment.

Take a look at the silverstone range... they do some lovely HTPC cases that are full ATX... I've got the GD08 myself and have had it for a few years. It's tall enough for a noctua tower cooler too (but the slightly smaller one). Comes with 3 120mm fans, filters on the bottom and both sides.

No... but I am using the 5700XT and any issues that I did have have been resolved. The only crashes I've had recently have been down to the tweaking I did with overclocking it.

Mine was the Sapphire Pulse 580... and it's currently running stock speeds in my mediaserver now I've upgraded to the 5700XT on my gaming rig.

Stock speeds were 1366 core and 2000 mem I think.... and I was running around the 1450/2250 mark. It was running hot though and I had to replace the thermal paste which got me roughly an 11ºC drop in temps.

Also worth noting that with GTA V... CPU is a major factor as it's very heavily reliant on single thread performance and can easily bottleneck... But if you are considering a budget card... I'm gonna assume that the rest of the system is either a little older or also budget oriented stuff.

As @op  if you've got a £300 budget... have you considered the 5700 as you're getting into that price range now, of for about 30-40 less than that you could get the 5600XT... But do some research on those as I've seen some brands have issues with cooling and there's the whole messed up launch vbios factor to consider with the 5600XT range.... basically AMD pushed a new bios for them that gave a 10-15% boost in performance.

OK, so now I know you're in the UK... as am I.  If you can stretch to £300 and the 1080 is that price... it's not a bad deal... as I've seen the 1070 going for more than that still.... I've just seen the gigabyte 1080 G1 on Amazon for £300 but it's not amazon selling it and you've got an extra £14 shipping on top of that... So be wary of such a 'great' deal from 3rd party sellers.

Amazon warehouse currently have the same card for sale for £292 and I've bought plenty of stuff from amazon warehouse over the years... Only had 10% of it being bad (mainly HDD/SSD deals).
