NateGSR117 reacted to -rascal- in Asus is making a ROG Phone because of course they are
Well...I'm in the market for a new phone since my Nexus 6P finally decided to have the 40% battery shutdown issue after hitting the 2 year mark.

If the price is reasonable, I may add this ASUS phone to my list for consideration.
The ROG and crap is overkill, true.
4000 mAh battery? Not bad, but curious to ee how the battery lasts with regular "non-gaming" phone usage.
It would be neat if you can connect an external display via the USB-C port, and attach a keyboard/mice to it...mobile workstation.

I was considering the OnePlus 6, but iffy about it -- security related.
See what the Pixel 3 has to offer...that is, if my Nexus 6P's battery can last that long...before it needs to be connected to a power source to even stay on for 5 minutes....

IMO $1200+ for a new phone is TOO DAMN HIGH

Yup, but my concern was if it was actually a malware/virus/worm if it is nothing serious and a false positive then I really don't need to take follow up action and let the system be then.

This is very likely. Apple does the exact same thing in Final Cut Pro by utilizing Quicksync. Exports on the Macbook (non pro) are comparable or better than a Windows workstation with Premiere.

Considering its virtually a given for Apple SoCs to include HEVC encoding hardware, I would be surprised if the software didn't leverage it.

As Apple uses NVME and some extremely fast encryption/decryption hardware, they've had the edge for awhile in opening large apps and games.

I work at an ISP and someone from my sales (older) said why do people need more than 6mbps. I lost my shit, set their home connection from 60/10 to 6/1 and I got a phone call in an hour saying they cant take it and they dont do that much on it. Just to show them how dumb their statement was.

Minimum of 30/5 for everyone or get the fuck out.

I believe Sony are taking steps in the right direction with this if it true. I would honestly just leave it at 1080p and just add other things since that more than enough resolution and will keep the fps up. If it upscale from 1080p to 4k then, I wouldn't have to much problem with it since it shouldn't give a huge impact on performance.

Biggest thing for me is that the gauges are not right in front of the driver, (I kinda want to see what Audi has been doing for that XD). Everything else I'm fine, I wish the center console was a bit more elegantly implemented.

i want Sony/MS to sell a AIB with a proprietary "Playstation OS" on it. A BT module, and its own SATA connector to run up to a optical drive.
That way, i can just "boot into PS mode" or whatever and use my i7 and R9 295x2 to power PS games.

yeah.... i dont care what that would cost. Uncharted at PC visual fidelity + 60+ FPS... yes. Worth it

Welcome to America, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, and the Greatest Nation in the History of the World, where the rest of the world powers ahead at the speed of light whilst the US tries to limit the access of its citizens to 21st-century infrastructure at every opportunity. I don't understand how they have the fastest in home wifi? It fiber connection, just hook that up to the modem and then to the router and I have gigabit wifi and wired. Even then it not like you are going to download things at those speeds unless you are transferring files between machines with raided ssd's. Sure they have 2gig fiber but that hell expensive compared to Google asking price.
