There is a certain point at which it would likely be too impractical to extend support (such as when Apple cut off 32-bit iOS devices); I chose four because that's both closer to where Apple is and because I figured it'd be a decent balance.  I think we can both agree that it should be comfortably longer than the length of a two-year contract, so that you don't feel like your'e forced to upgrade phones just to use recent software.

Android should get all os updates not just 3 to 4 years. Just like windows until the hardware on your phone, can't run it anymore.

I don't think we should give Google a pass here.  There's no practical excuse for why a company as large as Google cuts off updates so quickly, and why security updates are often seen as "nice to have."

This is one of those areas where Google should explicitly follow Apple's lead.  All Android devices should have four or more years of OS updates.  All security updates should be available over the support period no matter which device you have.  If vendors complain?  Too bad -- tell them the security of your phone isn't optional.

Hopefully people stop buying the 750-1000 smartphones so that we can keep their prices low and competitive.

Is the XR supposed to be a step down from the XS? But still better than the original X? Their line up seems way to confusing. Not to mention the iPhone 7 and 8 are still in their lineup which confuses things even more.

I would say duh.. Black OLED means the organic cells that form a pixel aren't generating light therefore not consuming power.

The whole thing would not be valid with other LCD based displays as those rely on backlight - if the pixel is black, it's simply blocking the backlight from shining through, the backlight is still running.

If this phone can fit a 4000mAh battery, a headphone jack and a stylus that has BT LE support all while maintaining IP68 certification without exploding, then I fail to see why others can't.

Android OEMs, you're not Apple. Stop messing about with the USB-C standard and actually work towards something that can properly replace the jack.

    For me, it's a need.

I don't want to invest in wireless headphones or a dongle just to "adapt" when my wired headphones work perfectly well. I run basically all my tech into the ground before upgrading/replacing, this is basically just the same thing.

I also can't currently afford wireless headphones even if I did need them.

I'll be honest, the only Telltale games I enjoyed, were Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us.
The Walking Dead games were.... Okay... But not incredible and frankly were kind of boring at times. Batman was meh, so was Minecraft and many of the others I can't even be arsed to remember.
I don't really mind not getting a wolf among us season 2, I've gone and read the Fables comic books after playing the first game and honestly don't feel the need for more at this point.

It's unfortunate that they all lost their job, but when you essentially rehash the same thing over and over again with a new skin on top of it since 2004, it was bound to happen.

Tales from the Boarderlands is one of their most loved games. A LOT of people cared about it.

Don't count on Walking Dead being finished. Unless someone gives them a load of cash to keep going they will probably completely shut down after the finish work on Minecraft: Story Mode for Netflix.

Small studios survive just fine these days. The problem is that they thought they could fix their problems by massively increasing their studio size and taking on a ton of projects, while at the same time struggling due to only having a single game in the last six years make a profit.

They seriously went bankrupt after getting the rights to the walking dead, borderlands, game of thrones, minecraft, guardians of the galaxy, and more? Good job. Maybe make more than 1 game with a different theme painted on top next time

Yea, it already exists. It is called Nvidia Tegra.
    It most notably powered:
Zune HD A number of Android tablets Surface non-Pro 1 and 2 All Shield devices Nintendo Switch Not to mention it is used in a number of cars.

It can technically also run Windows 10 on ARM if Nvidia feels like making drivers for the OS, espeically that, because it shares the same FULL GeForce architecture, can run DirectX. But so far, only Qualcomm is working with Microsoft.

Honestly id just upgrade to whatever you like and just keep the old phone for your development. Wipe it and put a new battery in since that's the last phone that samsung supported removable batteries.

Personally id go for this because now you can have that device dedicated solely to your projects.

It's way more than "a tad" excessive. $1800 USD for a graphics card that performs less than 50% better than a 1080 Ti for almost 2.5 times the price.
