RTX 2080 and 2080Ti board partners pricing (Asus & MSI)

ouroesa

I seem to have stumbled upon some of the first pricing for the RTX2080 and RTX2080Ti of board partners. Saw the below on a South African hardware seller's site; all pricing is in ZAR (1USD = 14.64ZAR at time of writing).

The cheapest RTX 2080 is the Duke version by MSI listed for around $1,130 going all the way up the the  MSI RTX 2080Ti Gaming X TRIO OC going for about $1,810. This pricing seems to be 'a tad' excessive in my opinion.

It's way more than "a tad" excessive. $1800 USD for a graphics card that performs less than 50% better than a 1080 Ti for almost 2.5 times the price.

Agreed, hence the quote marks. This rings especially true when you can get 3 new 1080's for that price.

That’s just SA. We get massively ripped off when it comes to graphics cards, and the retailers always artificially jack up prices for a good while after a new release. For example our 1080ti’s have always cost about $1000, and are only coming down now

That's an F in the profile pic
