Telsa's new Model X has a brand new feature; a "bioweapon defense mode". The Model X has an air filter that is 800 times better at filtering viruses than other cars. The 300 times better for bacteria, 500 times better for allergens and 700 times better for smog. Now only if I could afford one.

 

"This is a real button," said Musk, who was all too ready to have to defend the existence of the outrageous feature. He was in the middle of discussing how clean the Model X is when it comes to air quality both in and out of the car (the air cleanliness is "on the levels of a hospital room," he said) when things got dark.

This feature might actually be mandatory in every car in the near future with the way we keep going. Filthy/smoggy/polluted air yum yum yum yum.

This car could be needed already in Japan/China considering I see them walking with mask filters.

I still don't understand what the button does..

It filters all of the contaminated air outside the car to clean air inside the car

IDK why, but I found this far funnier than I probably should have... seems like a cool feature though, and I think just having a button labeled "BIOWEAPON DEFENCE" will justify most of the price tag (for me, anyway :D)

In Japan, if you catch a cold, or any other infectious disease, the social norm is to wear a mask over your mouth to prevent it from spreading. It's not because of air quality. China on the other hand...
