So I searched the forum for similar topics and didn't find any, anyways, like the title says...

What's your favorite platform?

So basically what's your favorite Intel/AMD platform and even GPU series for that matter?

Example:

My favorite Intel platform is LGA 775 and favorite AMD platform currently is AM3. As for GPU series I would have to say the GTX 6xx series for Nvidia and R9 7xxx series from AMD.

I just wanted to get an idea of what people personally find as there favorite platform even if they don't recommend it currently.

Please let me know if there is already a thread like this that I missed.

Well whatever Z97 is, duh. Me likey. As for GPU's the GTX 480. Not a series, I know, but I love it. :D

I guess LGA 1150, because it is so versatile.. AM3+ because it fits AM3 CPU's too

As for GPU's: GTX 600 series. Or 900. And for AMD I would say R9 200 series

LGA 1155 is glorious. AMD, I have no favorite, never really liked their CPU's. As for GPU, anything Fermi is best <3

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

For Nvidia I'd say the GTX 600 series as it was a massive boost from Fermi with the GTX 660 considered to equal the 580.  (albeit a little slower)

Intel, LGA 1150 because it's the only new thing I have

AMD well...  Not CPUs, yes they are great but they do eat power moreso than Intel.  as for ATi, I like the X5200 because it is cheap and still works.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

For me and the looks of the boards I would probably say Intel X38. My bro has an Asus P5EX38 and it looks bloody sexy :)

edit: seriously though, i like LGA1150 and 1155. They both were filled with new technologies that we've never seen before but use everyday now. (its just about the only thing I can love from my lifetime, especially since my first built machine was an LGA1155, which i'm still using now after 4 years* lol)

 

 

*and before you say my 3570K isnt 4 years old, I had an i5-2320 first, which I sold to a friend for cheap so he could afford a decent CPU lol

I would have to go with socket 775 with a Core 2 Extreme and that Nividia 780i SLI board with the Nvidia 9800 GX2 would probably be my favorite. Those just look super sexy not to have in a build.

Alongside my regular dislike of Intel, I also still think that putting the pins on the socket rather than the CPU is an idiotic idea, so I'm firmly in the AMD camp when it comes to CPU platforms. Let's provisionally call it AM4, and then we'll see if I have to revise that when it actually comes out.

 

As for GPUs though, it would have to be the GeForce 900 series. Fantastic performance with very frugal power requirements; what's not to like?

my favorite is FM2+ from AMD  :wub:

CPU = A10 6800K (@4.3Ghz) / GPU = HD 8670D (@844mhz/ram@1866mhz) - 2016 ≠ Dual Cores - why learn Linux ? - OLD intel x4 cpu (Q6600) + amd HD 7950 - this is what i think on watts x dollar cost - CPU "bottlenecks" only start to show "at the super high end cards" (like the 390) if you have a 4 cores CPU
