Are wireless mice really that bad if you only do single player/non-competitive games?

I know there are wireless "gaming" mice but I'm sure not about to spend the money on one of those. I'd rather get a cheaper wired mouse if the latency was so bad. But that's why I'm here... to ask if the input lag/latency/whatever we call it this week is really so bad if I don't game that much and never do online competitive games where milliseconds matter?

Wireless mice are fine for competitive gaming as long as the mouse you're getting is a good one.

LG has some that can be used for competative games too, i still dont like them because batteries, but they work great

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

It's really not a big deal, especially if you aren't playing competitively. It's quite hard for me to see the difference, and size/comfort matters a lot more than just a tad more or less of response time.

I mean mice like the g703 or g903 are great, and they are wireless. Especially with the powerplay mousepad, you will never even have to charge the mouse. Those are pretty pricey though, so it depends on your price range.

Wireless mice have come a very long way since inception (not the movie). IMO a quality wireless mouse will be fine for all but the most competitive gaming.

I bought a Logitech G603 because 18 month battery life. I like it so far, but yeah it is heavy. Takes some getting used to, though I've always liked heavier mice in general.

I dont trust wireless tbh, always that chance it looses connction ..even for a second.

I just bought a new mouse and pad ..my present for Xmas :P

 

MSi Clutch GM70. with a Roccat Chrome blue 'Sense' pad (400mmx280mm)

 

It is technicaly wireless, but can run in wired mode, which is what i plan on using.

Its somwhat heavier than my old RAT7, but not overly so.

 

I think in the end, while u can use wirelss , its just down to personal preference. I had bad experiences with early wireless mice, connection loss. So i steer clear of them. The only reaosn i got the GM70 over the GM60(wired only), is due to the sensor, otherwise if the GM60 came with the same 3360 optical sensor (has the 3330) i would have got that instead, lighter, also cheaper.. thankfully i got the GM70 for £75 ..usualy ~£100.

The reason i went for the Clutch was due to its side grips ..or rather the 'wings'. With both attached they act as thumb and pinky rests. not many mice have both and have a good sensor. Infact this is the only one i could find.

 

IMO, comfort, sensor performance, and possibly additional macro buttons, are more important than wireless.

I've had zero issues with my G603 so far, absolutely nothing. It's worked every time.

 

Only thing is I wish it had another button or two so I could assign media keys, because on my G400s I used the button above the scroll wheel as a media skip button, since I frequently leave stuff playing in the background when I'm on my computer and it takes an extra second to move my hand over to the media keys on my K70 RGB

Not sure if it's a thing in Logitech's software but, Razer Synapse has a feature called "Hypershift" which allows you to have a second layer of macros while holding the assigned key.

 

Maybe look around if they have something similar.

Make sure to quote or tag people, so they get notified.

g700 g602 and g9xx user here, use both g602 and g900s on my system, 602 cuz of the binds i have on it and to lazy to put it in my programmable keypad lol

havent had issues

old school ones from like 10 yrs ago constant issues
