Well that may be true, in Ireland student loans are no as common and a student loan above €10,000 is very very rare. So €1.2k is a lot here for students.

Kinda chunky for a Macbook Air. Nice upgrade, even if the Apple tax makes it kind of pricey for what it is.

Yeah, would have liked the price to stay at $999, but like, It is a massive upgrade regardless.

Hence why you can configure each machine do be more in line with your budget. Or you could get something "more powerful for less"

So... please tell me the "macbook" is dead... it had no reason to exist before, it DEFINITELY has no reason to exist now that the new macbook air is a thing...

 

Other than that, the price of the mac mini is still a complete joke (as expected) and this time I can't hate on the ipad pro too much - it's still a bit too expensive and the lack of a jack is stupid, but at least it seems to have some muscle where it counts.

Wat, is this supposed to be a joke about me loving the iPhone XRs display? I went to use one yesterday and it looked way better than my 6s Plus in terms of color and brightness. I could not notice a sharpness difference either unless I pixel peeped. 

 

On the Mac though, the screen is much bigger and retina is required when the machines are this expensive.

The MacBook is thinner and lighter than all other Macs, it's designed to be the super portable Mac, so it is still alive.

The Air is going to beat the XPS in battery life....that's probably it. Unless you want dual TB 3 ports. Oh and its thinner and lighter. 

 

If you want a fair specs comparison you have to look at the MBP

That's pretty much always been the problem with the Air ever since the Retina Macs came out (at least gen 2 when prices dropped -- 2013). The price difference is just so small while the performance gap is so large that the Air doesn't make sense.
