Your most hated meme/ term/ phrase in tech?

Probably whenever I'm on a certain imageboard, my girlfriend gets called a trap, it's not my fault half of the people on this certain image board are traps themselves, lol.

"Post-PC era"  Because tablets and smartphones aren't computers?  What are they then?

People calling a flash drive "a USB" gets on my nerves a little.

I've begun to really dislike the terms 720p and 1080p, or anything-p.  Interlaced vs. Progressive isn't even relevant anymore.  Just say the resolution.

"Macs don't get viruses."  <_<

"Retina Display"  <_< Apple's watered down the term so much that it actually doesn't mean anything anymore.  Yet people still consider it a feature.

When people "upload" something to their hard drive/flash drive.

I could probably go on but I'll leave it here for now.

I have a 1080i tv... am I irrelevant?

This one guy I knew had an older PC that he gamed on. It had an Athlon 64 and ran integrated graphics. He later upgraded to a 3570k and a 560SE. From there on out he said "Fuck AMD" to anyone that ever mentioned AMD

I get annoyed by people writing: example 6gb of ram. That makes no sense as what you are saying with that is that you have 6 grambits of memory and not 6 GigaBytes. CAPITAL LETTERS ARE IMPORTANT-the caps hammer has spoken

When people think 1GB is enough for 1080p gaming compared to 2GB.

That really depends on expecations and your video hardware. With my 1gb 550Ti @1080p, i never run into my 1gb limit, of course I don't so MSAA or anything like that, so for my card 1gb is enough for 1080p. If you have a higher end card and want msaa and other stuff like that, then yes, you'll need a 2gb card.

Old shit no one cares about but me.

Most hated thing, Someone will say that they are good with computers and they don't know jack about them....

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.

"thus"   "hence"   "thereby"

I think these are used when someone is trying to sound smarter than they really are.  It doesn't really bug me, but I can't take them seriously.

Not always true, but usually.

application or program is fine, but can't stand the term app

I dont like it when people use "app" when they refer to a desktop application, but for mobile applications I feel like it makes more sense to say app.

I don't like it when people say  "pro tip",  it just sounds arrogant like the user has no way to back up their argument and thus saying this should mitigate any further embarrassment.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
