Your most hated meme/ term/ phrase in tech?

Not really a phrase either, but when I'm reading on some tech news sites about a new graphics card/ processor/ whatever, there's always tons of people reacting:

"Well MY XXXXXXXX works just fine so I won't be upgrading" or "MY galaxy S4 is better than your HTC One because the screen is bigger!"

SERIOUSLY WHO GIVES A CRAP about what you have or don't have, and at least use ACTUAL argument instead of bullshit ones like the one in my last example.

//ragemode off.

A guy at my school talks about how he knows a ton about "microchips" (a brand) and always tries to help people with their problems on the computer. Usually it's a very simple issue, and he usually tells the person some random response like "You need to defrag your hard drive" or "You need a new CPU". When I overhear him "helping" someone, I usually just sit back and watch :P.

Yeah i hate that. At my school there also wsa this boy, who thinks he knows everything about tech. So when people needed help, i just sat back and laughed at him trying. :)

Man, if I had a dollar for everyone who thinks that "Retina Display" is some voodoo magic that only Apple has. Most of the time, they don't even know what it actually is. If Apple marketed their products and said "It has banana vision" or something you would see people using that for their Mac vs PC argument.

I almost died at the term "Banana Vision"...so kudos to you, sir.

And here are my 2 cents:

1. People that ask thing on a youtube video that are specified on the video description, like : What music are you using? What are the specs? etc..

2. People with really expensive pcs, tablets or smartphones that don't use them AT ALL, like:

- People using a Mac as a facebook machine

- People using a Tablet or a Smartphone and dont even taking 5 minutes to try and learn some of the features. And when you try to help them, they just say "But it works for me like that...". Use a brick then, you wont see the difference...

3. I really HATE an untidy pc. Not so long ago I saw the laptop of a buddy and I almost had a heart attack. Desktop full with broken shortcuts, all the porn download programs posible. Toolbars all over the place. Some of those "Your PC might be infected, Scan it now!" programms too. Don't get me started on finding videos or images in C (outside a folder). And the fact that he hated his laptop for being so slow, made everything 10 times worse.

4. Finally...the Harlem Shake. It was so stupid and overused. Once I was studying for a reaaaally hard final exam at my University's library, and when I looked outside, what do I see? Yes! A bunch of people filming a Harlem Shake. That got me soooo mad.

I kinda feel bad for them tbh lol  :D

meme

Have to agree with meme.

Not that I dislike the word, just don't like them in general.

Not really funny to me, most of the 'rage faces' and what not is over done and I don't see the point. :/

Something that used to annoy me but now is a fun game is going into a electronics store, generally a big one with non tech savvy staff, and asking them in depth questions about the computers and have them usually outright lie or go and get someone "who knows more" to come and outright lie hahaha. Though about 5% of the time you'll get someone who actually knows what they are talking about which is nice. :) But the "phrase" I hate the most would be the staff telling people that they'll be able to surf the web and create documents so much faster with this new machine. :/

Haha, me and my brother do this sometimes when we have a look round pc world (for fun, we never buy anything). About a year ago we asked one of their 'techies' about buying an SSD, to which he said "we don't have any of those in stock yet, it's a relatively new technology". This is coming from probably the largest UK retailer for consumer electronics...
