these are just patents, it doesn't mean they will do it as it also doesn't mean they aren't already doing it.

Oh yeah this was all bound to happen eventually. The more complex snooping algorithms etc. With machine learning too, data harvest will be excellent. 

I mean, these type of stuff, they literally already can know from many more od them then their friends and probably the person them self about certain stuff.

Privacy Badger does a pretty good job automatically with the benefit of allowing cookieless requests so you can support a site via ads while removing most of the tracking.

On Android you can still block internet access for Google services you do not want. DuckDuckGo also offers playing YouTube videos via DuckDuckGo.

Despite all of it's issues Apple does take the privacy of it's users seriously.

It is already too late and there's vast amounts of information that can be inferred from you already. The only bridge from your anonymity to total exposure is a court order compelling your ISP (You know, those guys that got all they wanted and killed net neutrality so they might be filled with the spirit of cooperation with authorities right now) to put together your actual name with your IP and then you're an open book.

I'm not shocked by any of this and I will never agree to what Facebook, Google, and Microsoft do with data collection and privacy but with the exclusion of Windows since that is paid for (until the upgrade period with 10 and its subsequent privacy issues). Did anyone at any point in time when Gmail and Facebook started and began to grow popular ever question WHY these things were "free"?  Remember you are the product to these people.  It isn't just selling ads to shove down your throat its also collect data on you and sell to the highest bidder.  That is their business model and their bottom line.

 

Which is also why I can never take any of them seriously when it comes to their "stance" on things like net neutrality and whatever other "virtue" of the day they want to promote.
