What are the best Phones for under $300?

I’m in the market for a new phone and I don’t know what is good. Would you please tell me what your favorite option on the market is and why? Thanks!

Edit: Refurbished is acceptable. Ex:Google Pixel 1 refurbished is $278 while new is about $500.

Edit #2: I can only use phones unlocked to verizon.

Nokia 6.1

SD card slot

Headphone jack

Android one (long OS support and stock android)

Decent camera from what ive heard, but as expected not flagship quality

IPS display (16:9 aspect ratio)

Hopefully others come with suggestioms aswell.

Not that there are two Nokia 6's. It is the 6.1 is the one i suggested as the regular 6 is an older model

Nokia 6 for only $230. The best part of this phone is that it's a part of the Android One program so it's free from proprietary OEM and carrier bloatware and will receive timely software updates directly from Google. https://www.nokia.com/en_us/phones/nokia-6-2017

The Nokia 6.1 is a carrier exclusive to T-Mobile whereas the Nokia 6 is the worldwide version. But I think both phones are carrier unlocked and free from bloatware.

6.1 is the 2018 model with a fingerprint reader on the back instead of on the front. The 6.1 also doesnt have the capacative buttons on the front.

Other than that is just newer i guess. I dont have the time to look into the specifics

Get the newer one, or at least a 2018 version

Nokia 6 2017 is NOT part of Android One, according to Internet / Wikipedia.

Nokia 6 2018 is, and Nokia 6.1 is too.

Sorry to break it to you, but the Nokia 6.1 suggested above does not work on CDMA

Perks of being on CDMA carrier include having absolute shit for phone selection

Consider these:

Moto G6

Moto X4

LG G6 Certified Refurbished

I only looked up Amazon. Never been to the US

Good luck!

Thanks! Those are all good phones. What are your thoughts on the pixel XL?

If its used, I'd avoid. Because the Pixel has an OLED screen, it could have already suffered burn-in at the hands of the previous owner.

Also other points to consider in comparison to the G6:

  • Smaller, standard aspect ratio screen with old school bezels
  • Yet its a larger overall device and egregiously thick at 8.5mm
  • No dual sim or sdcard slot
  • Water resistance is not up to IP68
  • Single main camera with no OIS
  • Bluetooth aptX is not HD
  • No wireless charging or Quick Charge 3.0

Wow you are good.

damn... this Carreer Situation in USA seems to be absolute Garbage².

In germany you can use every single phone with every single Carreer you want. stuff like Sim-Lock died out a few years ago.

Bad idea. OLED screen and subpar 2600mAh battery

Not that a brand new SD820 phone is going to last long on 2600mAh anyway

If the battery is already worn down, you'd be screwed

This is actually the one that I’m getting. Because the OLED doesn’t bother me and i can get the moto battery mod if it need.

Ah then I suggest getting at least two of those battery mods. Its gonna make your phone fat but at least it now basically has a replaceable battery.

It arrived. Everything is great. Battery lasts more than a day. (With battery mod)
