Nah I still find time to PLAY sports, but the justification to myself is that I gotta stay in shape.

Gaming has no such defence so I find it very hard to make time for it.

I'd say this: livestreaming games isn't so much about the games themselves as it is the community... well, ideally.

For Ninja, it's tough to create a community because even a regular stream has so many people that it's impossible to follow chat.  But when you have "just" a few hundred people watching, and you have a carefully moderated chat that's friendly?  It's great, it's as much about catching up with the streamer and pals as it is exploits in Fortnite/PUBG/game X.  Especially if you organize community events where the chat can play with the broadcaster.

With that said, I suspect it'd be a once-a-week thing if LTT did it rather than a daily affair like you see with the likes of Ninja and other professional streamers.  It requires quite a lot of investment to do on a frequent basis.

So a bunch of teens idolized this person thus why he has so many viewers. Well if he likes what he does and is successful at it, then good for him. For me I could care less about that this person does, same as that other person who's gamer tag is still plaster all over today's computer components.

I guess you missed the "off the table" part which is often used like:

I don't 'get' it.

Can't see the appeal, have no desire to find it, would rather do any of a thousand other things... :P

Well the way I see it.. For example, all of us who watch YOU.. we totally love just going around the warehouse, like, on your shoulder and you talk to us about stuff (not been many recently btw :P (dw ik you're very busy) ) But we're invested in you, and your team and channel etc.. so even if you're doing mundane things.. it's not about what you're doing..

That way.. It's not so much about the games themselves at some point but more about the personality on camera, just like youtube, but with another format, a live one which is much much more engaging. The games matter but at one point, they don't.. The streamer I watch (ok maye max 3 and only like once a week), play mainly one game, but i catch him playing others, too and it's fun. Bc its him.
Take Luke for example.. He's no pro, nor is Taran (those world records tho...) But it's very fun to watch them play, bc we love them man.

It's very impressive for individual streamer to gain such numbers that's for sure. Fun and all, cool prizes and some good cause too.

Sometines I find it funny when Linus mentiones he's out of touch with like streamers and eSports cause he's not old per say that he wouldn't cought upon it. :P

Yeah i didnt meant No one this age does. I personally just see it a very small thing around the age of 25& up  i would say a vast majority of viewers are younger then that but im sure theres a 45 year old that watches aswell but its not the average viewer.

Hmm I guess it all depends. Me and my friends are a bit older and we do tend to watch streamers/esports events.

Good for him.

Personally, I don't care about streamers. I have my own games and my own friends to share them with, I really don't get this thing Watching someone else play stuff.

Although I do suppose a lot of people don't get being on a a forum and talking to people there

That's an F in the profile pic

how about you just stream playing the game for 3 minutes on low end hardware, adjusting the settings for 15 minutes, repeat a few times until it's smooth, end stream.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch
