CD Project Red has officially announced to the press it's brand new office at Wroclaw in Poland after completing it's acquisition of a independent studio Strange New Things. The aim of this new office is to further development on their upcoming AAA Role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077. Adam Kiciński provided a statement to the press:

Quote

“Wrocław is one of the biggest and most technologically advanced cities in Poland and a playing field for serious creative talent. I think the scope of our current and future projects, as well as the overall package we’re bringing in, will pull in people who were hesitant to move to Warsaw or Cracow.” — says Adam Kiciński, President and Joint CEO, CD PROJEKT Capital Group. “The founding dev team of CDPR Wroclaw is already pretty stellar, but I still can’t wait to see what talents we’ll discover in new people along the way.” — Kiciński adds.

“We’re pretty hyped to be on the spearhead of this new office.” — says Paweł Zawodny, Head of Studio, CD PROJEKT RED Wrocław. “We know Wroclaw inside out and it’s an amazing place to make games. The team is strong, and I’m sure we have both the experience and the creative firepower to make Cyberpunk 2077 an even better game.” — Zawodny adds.

“Aside from their immense technological knowledge and artistic flair, the core team of CD PROJEKT RED Wrocław are just great people.” — says Adam Badowski, Game Director for Cyberpunk 2077 and Head of CD PROJEKT RED. “CD PROJEKT RED is not a typical game developer — we put gamers, creative freedom and quality games above making business. These guys not only share this approach, but, much like the rest of the team, think that this attitude is essential to creating epic video games.” — Badowski adds.

This is a fairly good move for CDPR as a whole, Acquiring a new studio to help in the development of Cyberpunk 2077 and after hearing more news of CD Projekt going to E3 and to other conferences throughout the year, I do hope that we hear more information on the development of the game.

i can feel for CD Red. with the success of witcher 3, they have to match or surpass the ambition of that game for Cyberpunk 2077.

i rather not hasten the progress. everyone is expecting some sort of gameplay during E3 as they are listed to appear this year, but after that it is ok if they're unable to release it later in the year. i have also heard that the director likes how Fallout 4's release was handled, they might follow that

As long as the game looks damn good and runs great, they can take all the time they need. A little trailer or a sneak peak can't hurt tho ;)

Adding an entire team will undoubtedly quicken the speed of production. Otherwise there wouldn't be a point to it.

Haha, yes of course. I just assumed most people would know CDPR's quality. Plus, it's not like having more people is going to slow it down xD

It would be a point if it made the game have even more quality and be better. Even if they used the same ammount if time.

It matters that you don't just give up.”
