It looks like a Socket 478 or 186(I forget the exact numbers of early Intel sockets), so it would probably be one of the really early if not original Pentiums.

Only 5 years late. :P

Tho it's a Socket 7board and a Pentium MMX, and if I'm not mistaken they list speeds on the underside.

Aww look, brother and sister!

Had these for ages. Cant chuck them away.

They are still working as far as I know but unfortunately do not have mobos to go and test with. Anyone kindly donate a motherboard if you have spare?

Would appreciate it.

Then could feature on my channel.

I did have an AMD CPU in same format but not sure where that has gone. Probably was blown up or overheated. As was the case for AMD back in the day. No thermal protection ha ha.

Miss the old days and tech tho.

Any youngsters here who has never seen these before, raise your hands!

Lets play, name that card...

NVIDIA or AMD I wonder.

I don't know what it is either. VGA and DVI no HDMI as a clue for age. And its made by ASUS. And at least is is PCI-E so not that retro.

More retro stuff to come.

I remember my first ever graphics card. It was a Power VR and it came with graphics demo which was back then, out of this world! Here is a youtube vid of the demo:

thinks this was the one. Then I got a 3d Prophet Hercules card with 64Mb VRAM!

Oh how unfortunate. Specs? And was it worth it?

Oh, i forgot to mention exactly why it was so expensive, this is a near max 701c with a very special upgrade. Instead of a 50mhz or 75mhz 486 inside, its a 133mhz AMD X5 upgrade, and not some hack job either, its an original IBM upgrade board manufactured in Germany in there.

Along with 40mb of ram and a 3gb hard drive.30703742_626877060996309_9030503751481518778_n.jpg.e493156bd5b049cf50df2042b50fa7b1.jpg

The processor and ram upgrade are the only things making it even remotely compatible with Windows 98SE.

Note, there is so little documentation on those boards, since less than 300 are presumed to have ever been made, that its more common to basically mod your original board than it is to find an AMD board.

Most likely AMD, going by the red PCB. Any stickers on the back that would possible help tell what it is?

I was gonna make a new topic asking if anyone remembered the RocketBoard. And I didn't want to dig mine out, so I tried to search for a picture of it since I got mine for free new when it came out. But then I realized now that I guess not everyone got a free one cause the company that was making them kinda went a bit crazy or something (didn't get a full story, just a paragraph on a website, didn't do enough research yet). So I grabbed mine from the bin it was in, took it out of it's box (which I saved, unless it was from another keyboard), and got a crappy pic of it from my crappy ZTE Phone. I only thought of it cause I saw a video of Linus wanting a Snipping Tool key, and remembered the shortcut keys I had on my Rocketboard.

RocketBoard2.jpg

Edit: If anyone wants a bigger more detailed picture, I can get out my tripod, lighting, and 6MP Camera.

I just tossed one of these in the trash.  I wonder if it's worth anything.  Doubt it.

Blue and white G3 that i've had off-and-on since '03 and got me through college, still my favorite PC design just because of the door - wish new computers were this convenient.
