A long time ago, I found it on eBay and bought it for my collection. I have no idea what is the type of these chips. I looked with the magnifying glass (zoom x8) and I don't see any name of the brand or model on these chips.

 

 

 

The diameter of this wafer is 10cm.

I tried with my old scanner AGFA SnapScan 1212U (it still works ). I use it with my PC tablet Fujitsu Point 1600 (Pentium MMX 166 MHz with 160MB RAM EDO and 20GB HDD)

 

 

 

And the result looks not good (I tried with 4800 DPI).

 

 

 

For the Information, the real length of this chip is 5.5 mm.

More new old stock 2006 things I started a build in this case and stoped because i changed my mind on what I want to do with it and I’m thinking of building a retro build with the open gts 8800 I got with the ultra and a period correct motherboard like a pentium extreme or something. Not going to use the power supply for anything.

Wind it back just a few years to SDRAM. DDR2 wouldn't be introduced until roughly 6 years after the processor in that guy's pic.

No. It's just single channel.

No photos, but one of the computers still in use here is running on a Wolfdale Core 2 Duo with 6GB DDR2.  A while back, I put in an SSD and installed Windows 10 to give it some extra life, and oddly enough, it still works more than fast enough to do what it needs!  The Core 2 series really was very well made.

Shop PC I built is a Wolfdale Pentium E6300 at 3.5ghz with 4GB, SSD,  and a HD 6570. Does everything faster than the new $150 laptop he bought that crashed. 2 cores, 2 threads, it still goes a long way! I've got a couple 1st Gen i3 that I need an mATX board for and I'll swap out the hardware and run Windows 10 next year. Probably the i3 550 and see if I can scrounge up 8GB of DDR3, finding a cheap 1155 board is a pain now for some reason. It's like Intel kept changing sockets every year for a while or something. /s

 

2nd gen is cheap as heck now too so might step up to that. I dunno...

It's my collection and It's for to play old games 80's & 90's (only on IBM 380E and Toshiba. For IBM 340CSE, it's just a collection because I love IBM ThinkPad)

Man I remember these things, it just never took off did it. I recall watching a few demos using the PhysX cards but they never caught on with people, I think it was a matter of too little too late, game developers and graphics card makers were already surpassing the technology that the PhysX cards offered.

 

It was a cool ride though.

Google isn't that hard to use to figure out what RAM a PII used.

Philips is faster than LG when I launch a software.
