I had an issue with my EVGA 980 ti SC.  I called them on a Sunday evening (24hr support) spoke with an perfectly english speaking well spoken gentlemen.  I explained my issues and my troubleshooting method, and he promptly started the cross shipping RMA.  Got the shipping notice tonight and saw in "Reference Number 2": 08G-P4-6286-KR.  Boom...1080 FTW RGB.

 

Thanks for the sick upgrade EVGA.  I love you guys.

Well, that is disappointing.  Have you tried calling them?...their 24hr tech support is pretty sick.

Haha....embarassed.  It really is a rareity these days when you get a well spoken CS rep.  Especially at a non-businees hour.

Haha...I have heard of people having their 980ti replaced with 1070s...but a Flag Ship 1080?  The guilt is real bro.

EVGA basically overnighted me a 1080 when my first one died a mystery death. I asked them to email me about what killed it if possible, and a few weeks later got an email with a pretty in depth checklist. I won't ever recommend anyone else if customer support is important.

Well you might as well try it again. RMA your 1080 and see if you get a Titan V. xD

OP posted this thread originally in "CPU, Motherboard, Memory" but caught his mistake so he posted it in the right section (Graphic Cards). As you can see above, both threads were merged.

Highly doubt that would work. The reason they sent him a 1080 is because they probably don't have spare parts to repair it (they are not even selling 980Ti's) therefore replacing it would be the only option.

Oh yes EVGA is great at this, here in Brazil they did my brother and I a huge favour.

 

My brother bought a Founders Edition GTX 980 Ti from B-Stock for 350$, it got here with absurd coil whine, we RMA it and got an email from them saying that they were out of both the 980 Ti and 1080 at the time which would be the right replacements, so they offered us a Founders Edition 1080 Ti if we paid a difference fee of 150$ which we agreed and paid, so a 1080 Ti FE which I currently have under my "hood" for 500$ lmao.
