Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

My dream is two Foresters, quite similar to what I posted, uels on both, stance would be a daily with a Apexi N1 exhaust and the battle wagon would just be straight piped. But if I ever get a WRX or sti it will definitely be straight piped. There's a white sti sedan (2012 or so) with neochrome looking dipped wheels and a straight pipe that hits sounds godly. I like a loud car myself. Neighbors not so much, but I have to listen to all of their straight piped Harleys. So they can deal with my life cars

i honestly wouldn't mind owning a straight piped car, regardless of what car it is, from an odyssey to an e39 m5 to an open header v8. but my neighbor owns a cobra foxbody mustang with like no exhaust whatsoever and he ends up doing burnouts in my neighborhood at night and i just want to take an axe to his car. because he does it EVERY. FREAKING. NIGHT.

For a van you need a tall roof, but you need a regular L front end, not a flat front end. Death traps they are.

Yes

Ugly but big front end

I dont know about short front ends, as long as you dont rear end anyone I guess they are alright.

No

ons but good layout and design of the doubleback. Do this to a 4x4 high roof van.

Sexy beast!!!!---------

Sexier beast!

Fiberglass Mounting Style Aluminum Roof Rack

Spacious beast, good for camping or business.

this is probably the only domestic car/van i'd drive. something good for offroading/rough travelling like this. gas vans can work, preferrably diesel.

jesus, this car looks like it hasn't been touched since '06. http://chico.craigslist.org/cto/5921511319.html but i don't understand why the wife won't give the keys back, even though he's selling the car.

It's not hard getting keys from the company so me thinks there's some BS going on with that car.

being a v10, and a bmw, i'd imagine it's astronomically expensive to fix that issue. i mean 15 grand for something that's worth normally 30 grand plus is such bs.

Wonder what happened to it

probably the buyer didn't want to deal with it anymore and either sold it off again or scrapped it.

Because i dont need a locker. If im towing uphill in slick conditions (or just driving even) like in sleet or whatever and one wheel breaks lose and starts to spin, i dont want tge other wheel to lock to the other one and start to spin as well and then SUPRISE DRIFT VAN. Its also something else that can break.

I do have plans for it though. When the first motor pops its getting an LS2, standalone ECU because why not, cable throttle because i like it better, and there was something else but i cant remember.

Then imma have completed the Corvette Express. A fun tow vehicle.

With an open diff, if one wheel spins you are stuck. For example one wheel is on pavement the other on ice in a pothole, you are then stuck. There are many options that are easy to install. I like the "automatic" nature of the Torsen diff they are used in the HumVee's the military uses. Another option is the mechanical locker or Eaton TrueTrac.

man, it seems like you can't win at life in california, both north and south. the bay area has crazy high costs of living that people can no longer afford because of the extraneously high prices, so they move to the valley in droves, and though the extra people helps the local economy, the traffic here is progressively worse than it has been in the past few months. and in the process, people moving to the valley are clogging our freeways and making commutes for people who live in the valley to the bay, like my dad, absolute hell there and back. and not to mention the strict as hell emissions standards and whatnot. but hey, when you have 30 million people living in a single state, you're bound to come across issues like that.

Still pretty neat. I wish gas was cheaper here... So petrol cars would be more common and I would have to listen to diesel engines all day long... :|

My dad's E60 520d makes just a little bit more torque than your dad's A6 tho :P

450Nm from a 2 liter turbo diesel vs 441Nm from a 3 liter supercharged V6

To me, that's just crazy.

Horsepower and sound wise, I'd take the A6 everyday of the week.
