Whats your case pick?

Thanks everybody, I'll probably either choose the P400S or the Meshify C. Also, nobody commented on the H700i, bad case?

The H700i is a great case, its just very overpriced. Part of the reason is they added a smarthub that has intergrated RGB lighting and fan controller, but the RGB system is proprietary, and they also are pushing "machine learning" to control your case fans through both noise and thermals. IMO, it's crap and not worth paying $50 over something like the Define R6

The H500P is a cheapcase with airflow issues. The H500P mesh and the H500M soon to release are much better cases, expect them to be around $150+

Corsair 460x > 570x

Fractal has three types of Define C; The Define C, Define C TG, and Meshify C. The only difference between the Define C and Define C TG is the tempered glass side panel. The Meshify C removes all the sound dampening foam, replaces the front panel with a mesh grill and tints the glass. All three share the same internal chassis, so any you choose will have the same build experience.

I would also throw in the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG, just to make your life harder ;)

What's your build parts list? That might help narrow down a couple of cases

I wanna get a new case soon and I'm trying to decide which to get. Here are my options and why I picked them/why I'm not 100% set on it yet.

P400S - Beautiful case IMO, but my friend has it and said the air flow is shit, my guess is because it's made to be silent. I air cool and have cheap fans so I can't be having a silent case.

H700i - A good choice, a great case with many options.

570x - I wanted this at first, but then Dimitri shat on it.

H500P - I thought this would be the winner because Dimitri seemed to love it in his review but then on his case rewards showdown video said it had some problems.

Define R6 - The best of them all says Dimitri. I will say it looks nice. But I need to watch his review on it still.

PS: To Linus only shills Dimitri is hardware Canucks, he does great case reviews and is who I rely on to judge a case pretty much.

So what's your pick and why? Is it something else not on this list? well let me know. I'll check it out.

It's only better if you're doing a big liquid cooling loop. Otherwise there's a lot of wasted space.

Very generic option but I absolutely love my S340. I've heard good things about the Elite version as well.

I also just built in the Define Nano S (not sure what size you're going for) and it was a delight. Air 240 or Silverstone SG13B have been a good options in the past for me as well.

I would say the Define R6, but unless you need all the front hard drive bays, optical drive, and watercooling space, you may be better off with the smaller and cheaper Define C or Meshify C.

Currently majoring in computer networking. That's about it yeah. Not much goes on in my life.

I disagree. They're much worse in person than from pictures, as an owner of one.

The cable management is pretty bad for a $100 chassis, and there simply isn't enough airflow at the front. I mean, otherwise, it's ok, but those are some fairly imperative features for a modern case.

I would agree that any of Fractal's current offerings appear to be the undisputed king of cases for their respective price ranges (well, maybe people aren't saying that, but that's what I think). Specifically the Define R6 in #1 and the Meshify C in #2 for its amazing value for the money. R6 leaves me drooling just thinking about it, and I'm a 460X owner. I don't need a case upgrade, but I sure want one now!

Cooler master's offerings still seem like dogshit, so I'd just entirely avoid them.

I wasn't aware the P400 had airflow problems, in fact, I thought that's what it was renowned for especially in comparison to its price.

I think Silverstone has a good option out right now, unfortunately it doesn't look very sleek/aesthetically pleasing. RL06 is what it's called I think.

Honestly I feel like the budget sector is advancing much faster than the high end market. With releases like the H500P and that ShitFenix one with no airflow, $50-$70 cases seem to be the way to go for most people. Unless you need EATX support or improved watercooling support (another thing most budget cases are attempting to address nowadays), you can stick with a P300, S340, or perhaps a used Meshify C/Define C.

Just kidding, maybe there's something wrong with my cooler or something? I never had particularly good temps with this case, always seemed to make things louder/hotter. But maybe that's just me. I think my cable management point still remains though. I saw PCPartPicker build in it once, they usually have very good cable management but not nearly as much in their 460X build. It's a pain in the ass to work with imo.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I hate having to wire storage with cables, the only time it's even remotely tolerable is in a rackmount server, where you have 1 or 2 SAS cables (neatly cable managed out of the box) going to a backplane where all the drives are connected to with hot-swap bays. I really want M.2 drives to not have such a price premium as well. I'm VERY much eyeing the 860 evo m.2 250GB as my next SSD. Black Friday 2018 perhaps?

I have 2 P400 cases with different builds. My build is an Intel core I5 4460 with an XFX RX 480 4gb gpu that's over clocked. During long heavy gaming sessions my cpu with a 212 evo cooler never exceeds 73c. My gpu stays at about 72 to 75c.

My wife's build has an AMD FX 8350 oced to 4.8ghz with an MSI RX 480 4gb gpu. She sits around 78c on the cpu and 76c on the gpu.

If you set your fans up correctly it doesn't have terrible air flow. But the Meshify c will have much better air flow.

The old h500p had crappy airflow,But coolermaster has redesigned it and added mesh so it gets better airflow,I believe i heard it comes out in a month maybe two.If you want to water cool i would look up the lian li 011 dynamic or the air if you want air cooling. They did a over haul on the pc-011 changed a lot and should be priced a lot better. Those 2 cases drop sometime in march.

Marking as solved but you guys can keep commenting. I have no part list just yet, I didn't want to make one because I don't have the money yet but I will probably either go ryzen 7 or i9 depending on my budget which I don't know what it is yet. Most likely an AIO cooler so case needs to support that, rest will be air. Standard size motherboard all that, probably 1 sdd, maybe 1 hdd for mass storage, no dvd drives or anything like that.

I haven't updated this list in a few months but this is something like what I was going for. Prices keep soaring so Idk for sure though. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HfPcQV

Edit : I think what I'll do is write down every suggested case in this list on notepad, watch reviews and make bullet points on what the case offers to narrow down.

Two channels I recommend is Gamers Nexus and Hardware Canucks, both do extensive reviews of cases; GN focusing on performance of a case, and HWC focusing on overall features, options, specs and ease to build in. :)

Also to note, those NZXT AER fans are proprietary; They require NZXT's HUE lighting controller to function, or at east be controlled by software, and cannot be controlled with Asus Aura

Yea probably what I'll do. Looks like an amazing case.

Oh forgot to mention, I was slightly intrigued by the dark base 700, thoughts?

That's a solid choice as well. It's all about your personal taste and a few pro and cons that applies to you. So, is It worth the extra price for base 700? The features that base 700 has justify the price over a meshify C? Do you like more the design of the base 700? at a first glance the meshify C should have a better airflow due to fully front mesh, whereas base 700 has only those lateral airflow intakes. Might not differ in airflorw (I haven't checked the review on base 700) but again, it goes to personal taste ;).
