I think this is exactly the issue here, there are MAC only versions of cards. Less demand = higher prices

Side Note: I read the comments on some of the products on the apple site. It's funny how ignorant some people are. There were comments on a Gigabit fiber cable wondering whether it was used to connect headphones.

Still a ridiculous price tag. I'm not very familiar with the the 2009-10 Mac Pro, but I doubt spending $450 on that card now would be much of an upgrade from what was originally in it.

I once saw an MSI R9 280x for $1300.Amazon took it down unfortunately ;_;.
