I name all my servers after scientists and engineers. Gutenburg (for my storage server) Turing (compute server) and then name my workstations after Royal Navy Warships. Dreadnought (for my main watercooled machine) Beagle (for my LAN rig) etc

I name all my machines after GoT castle's(/harbors/ships), with some logic behind all of it: 

router/firewall: castle-black, desktop: dragonstone, laptop: balerion (ship), AP: Lannisport (harbor), dns-server: red-keep. Those are all inside home network  (westeros). 2 vps's are ironbank and vaes-dothrak (outside westeros).

Might give you some inspiration to come up with a similar naming scheme based on something you like.

I name all my systems (desktops, laptops, servers) after Rick and Morty Planet

Currently in use:

• alfabetrium (main desktop running Fedora27 workstation)

I use mythological creatures.

• My  E-ATX desktop is called Behemoth
• My Nas is called Leviathan
• My Router is named Janus
• My (future) kubernetes cluster will be called Hydra
  • first node is Hydra0, then Hydra1, etc.
  • kubernetes automatically replicates its pods

Leviathan maybe isn't the best name for it but I use it the most with Behemoth so I wanted the names to be somewhat similar

I name my servers after Greek Gods.

My File server is called HQ-ZEUS, email server is called HQ-ATHENA, DC is called HQ-HERCULES (not a god, but whatever).

 

HQ because they are at HQ.

 Area51/Hangar18 because you're putting weird shit in there (assuming porn).

Walmart / ikea - large warehouse stores.

UPS - delivery warehouse (makes me think of delivery protocols)

ContainerStore - funnier if you were going to use docker
