What was your first phone?

Sort of a follow up to the poll about when kids should be allowed a cell phone, what was your first phone and at what age did you get/receive it? 

 

Mine was a Samsung Corby Plus. I got it when I was around 14.

It was a decent phone for texting which was pretty much all you did back in 2010. The only issue with it was that it was locked by my carrier Rogers, which meant I could get any ringtones without paying them 3 bucks a pop. 

 

Samsung Corby Plus -> Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc -> Sony Xperia SP -> Samsung Galaxy S3 -> iPhone 4 -> Samsung Galaxy A5

Still remember my dad driving me down to Vancouver to get it. We also got McDonalds, which was another highlight

not really sure of the brand but it was attached to the wall with a wire. 
but if your talking cell phone it was a Samsung Flip phone i got from my dad in 2007.

A Nokia C2-01 the black version as my first cellphone.

Before that a landline from Sony with an automatic answering machine.. that used to be a big deal haha!

Not sure what model that Sony was, even at the time people called it ancient but it works.

Nowadays I still mainly use landline when I'm home and on the go I rarely text/call. 2 Minutes of call time & 3 texts is already a month where I used it more then usual. For that reason I still use a "Pay Per Use" subscription, if I ain't using none I ain't paying them lol.

Still have whats left of my Nokia, lets just say some idiots thought smashing it without my consent would "funny". God I hate immature moves like that.

Pretty decent device, liked it more then what I used after it. A Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300. That was a piece of crap, still have it in working order mainly for Steam Guard.

It was a rotary dial phone, only one in the house back in those days.  But I can't remember if it was Pac-Bell or AT&T.  Must have been at least 57 or 58 years ago.  Them were the days, them were the days.

My dad had one of those, he said it made a weird high pitch squel noise that drove him insane.

I can't remember what model, but it was early 2000's and it was a kyocera. I never had a smart phone until I got an iPhone 5 when that was new and I still have it.

Iphone 4. Forget what people say about iphones and breaking, Mine was indestructable! Dropped it on anything and everything imaginable while I had it and it never broke. Concrete, glass, rock, linoleum, carpet, porcelain granite, steel, etc. Then the one day it falls off my bed onto the carpet floor, the screen cracks.... still have it but needs a screen and diffuser.

I got my dads old gold Nokia 3310 when I was around 16. Space Impact was my favorite game on it lol.

Sony Ericsson was the phone brand back then. W580s were so popular here in Vancouver. Same with the K800s. I remember always wanting one back then. Loved their design language in those days.

I think it was a third hand Blackberry Bold. The battery cover was held on by tape and it lasted like 4 hours on battery. The keyboard was like rubbed out and the screen looked crap.

 

The phone wasn't that old, just that after going through my mom and sister it was in crap condition. I didn't care though, I loved that phone

I used to have a Xperia SP. It was great when I first got it, but then after an update, it was an absolute turd. Didn't release that my carrier locked the bootloader so bricked it when I installed a UBL ROM on it. 

 

Loved how the light bar flashed with the music, the only thing I miss about that phone.

Mine was a Samsung S3... I got it as a hand me down from my mother when I was 13. She got it when the S4 was just coming out. I currently use a Vodafone Smart Ultra 7, which is my second phone, after the battery on the S3 became useless. (Took 12 hours to charge to 50% and would drain it in 2 hours on idle. It would die and then the next day when I restarted it there would be 20ish % left, no joke. I have also heard of this happening to another S3 user that I know. Is it just a defect in the technology used?)

Motorola mr30 and I must have been around 23 or 24 at the time, but that's because that was when mobile phones started to become affordable for ordinary people over here.

Even had the huge expanded battery because the something like 2 day standby just wasn't enough... (glares at Galaxy Note 8)

The first phone I had was a lan line in my bedroom. Then my parents finally signed up with Alltel and we all got the Motorola Razr. After that, I got my first smartphone a few years later, which was the Casio G'zOne Commando. God awful phone, but it worked for the time and I wanted a durable phone (survived being dropped 20 feet off a highway walking bridge). Few more years past by and I got the HTC M7 and as it began to slow down I got my current phone, HTC M10.

 

Probably going to switch to the pixel 2 or maybe pixel 3 (or whatever the name will be) if this one begins to feel sluggish.
