How do you guys feel about spending 100+ bucks on a license for a piece of software, that's basically a necessity (for now)?

And don't worry, your name isn't shown in the poll itself :D

legit but it was a dell oem one off ebay for £45. now i have the disk i get keys from pc's that are broken.

Legit Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8 key through my Uni's DreamSpark account. I also got just everything I could:

 

- MS Hyper V 2012

- MS VS 2012 Ultimate

- MS VB6 (for luls)

- MS VS 2008 (for luls)

- MS Windows 8 

- MS Windows 7 Professional

- MS Windows Server 2012

 

All legit, full keys.  :D

LEGIT SON!

 

Some of my software may (or may not) be pirated, but I would never pirate an OS. It's just not worth the issues it comes with it.

 

Besides, I got my OS for free from my university (through the Dreamspark program; most students with programming courses can get a Dreamspark account) and now I got 4 windows keys on the side for future builds, but even if I didn't I would still buy legit.

I bought my Win 8 Pro key when they were $30 at launch.   Also bought an upgrade from win 7 to Win 8 for like $10 or $15, I haven't use that one yet.

Getting most M$ stuff free form Dreamspark. [Except Office] so no reason to go through the hassle of cracking it.

 

and you lack the Option of Windows + Linux. I'm personally using both ^^
