why are people still buying EA games?..

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I try not to make the idea of "cancer" something funny, but when you make games P2W like that it's one of the only things I can think of saying. I miss the days of just buying a video game for keeps. Hell even subscription based titles I can learn to love as long as it puts everyone on the same damn level.

I tried the beta. I don't see any reason I'd want to leave Planetside 2 for it though. Does a lot better job of a sci-fi shooter despite the bugs and piss-poor optimization.

If you consider that cancer is out of control cell growth that results in the body dieing, it is very similar to Ea's practices with segmentation of people who play their games, the dlc, the micro transactions; They as a company are so big that if you dont have their games there are not many other games you can play with other people, then they segment their own customers and slowly kill of the game's community.

Its great Ea is doing Open Beta's now, too bad they are often too late to fix the major problems.

After watching the Angry review I pretty much laughed my ass off. Anyone that plays this game and invests time and money has got serious problems. Perhaps they enjoy getting wallet raped...who knows?

Or they have the money and time to spend on things they enjoy.

In the interest of fairness it seems like this situation might not be as bad as we think, EA has responded today and addressed some of our concerns. They assure fans that progression in the main game is tied to level, star cards will have a minimum level requirement before they can be equipped as will upgrading heroes and abilities and loot boxes will contain much more stuff than in the beta including guns, attachments, skins and other cosmetic items too.

Essentially a player can still buy a load of stuff but they'll need to play to a certain level before they can use any of it.

Who knows if this is a change made because of the backlash or the plan all along but either way its a positive. Still not enough for me to buy it though.

Are you ready for this one? Multiplayer progression in SW:BFII is 100% dependant on the loot crate system. Yep, you literally cannot progress in the game without depending on the RNG BS of loot crates.

guess you never played destiny? The endless grind for max light level 100% based on rng?

literally no different.

Have YOU ever played Destiny? I question if you have if you don't understand the difference. Destiny's RNG is based on engrams you pick up playing the game or as quest rewards. You can also use in-game money to purchase weapons with guaranteed effects from several vendors. The light level grind is nowhere near as RNG as you make it out to be either. In Destiny 1 the light level of the engrams you identify is based off the light level of the gear equipped in that slot. In Destiny 2 it is based off the highest light level of that type of gear your character owns, whether its on them or in storage. It takes time to get to max light level, but it isn't as heavily RNG based as lootcrates. You're guaranteed to keep making light level progression as you play Destiny, that is not remotely the case for lootboxes. Absolutely nothing in Destiny depends on lootcrates.

destiny one loot was trash, you could raid on three characters across vog and crota for months and still not gain any light level.

loot crate isn't much different than getting a random reward at the end of a level, just one sell step.

I used ti play destiny a lot, raids and pvp and never made it to max light.

Like I said, there is a specific method to raising light level quicker. Though Bungie did tweak light level progression after Iron Throne to get people up to higher light levels faster. There is still a world of difference between Destiny's grind and being able to outright buy power boosts. Destiny isn't pay2win, Battlefront 2 is. Gaining the last few levels or getting the right tier gear or whatever is always an extended grind in MMOs and Destiny is no different.
