most people use Rainmeter, (on systems with xorg there is conky, and possibly others) I too did once use both and then realized I never looked at it, so I uninstalled them again.

I always thought Rainmeter was a pain in the ass to work with. So I never used it.

I would screenshot both monitors, but I would rather not share all of my Steam and Skype contacts that are on my second monitor...

Also high RAM usage is because of RAPID mode on my SSD

I always thought Rainmeter was a pain in the ass to work with. So I never used it.

Well it is a lot more painful than something like conky. I never really liked it too much, customising was a pain, there was 20 Billion different files in different folders you had to find instead of a single config, the syntax in those isn't too easy to understand. However you can do a lot with it if you are masochistic enough.

as a bonus, here is my desktop on my Thinkpad X61 Tablet.

oh and with stuff on it, so you can see more of the GTK and openbox theme.

This is the admin account I made to keep her computer up to date and free of infections. Normally a lot of the stuff pinned is open, but I just logged on and hadn't opened all of them yet.

 

And this is Vengeance's desktop.

 

You can never have too many things pinned to the taskbar.

I keep a games folder with shortcuts to games and I also keep an apps folder with shortcuts to my applications. It's considerably much nicer looking than dumping icons all over your desktop.

Yup.

 

Since I use my Dell for work-ish stuff (reviews I have yet to put on here, school, etc), I have more icons than what I would like to have. And I put them all over the place since it drives me nuts, and I'll want to clean them up, so I'll have to do something about them.

Sadly wihtout that Asus "gadget" running, the computer will not go into sleep mode, so I'm stuck with it :\

 

You need to install a clean copy of Windows on that laptop, my friend, and get rid of that bloatware. Best thing you will ever do. You can reuse your product key on the bottom if you install the same OS version
