Looks like it.

Took a snip of the screen in the teaser and it was 16:9.

Pretty disappointed, considering how the polls David Hill took a couple years ago had people vote for an 8:5 display.

Looks cool, but not enough info to really be interested.

I'll be elated if it's not just the keyboard but also a more blocky and functional overall design like it used to be, they've been moving away from that and it frustrates and depresses me.

Truthfully, I don't actually care about the keyboard. I love the current keyboard, and to my knowledge the thing everyone gets misty-eyed about is the layout -The only thing I don't like about the current layout is the placement of the goddamn Fn key, and that mistake has been on them a lot longer.

"Do as I say, not as I do."

-Because you actually care if it makes sense.

It's not like the looks have changed much since then. You could tell me that it's just another new model and I wouldn't notice.

the little red nittle in the middle of the keyboard is pointless in this day in age, because the majority of laptops on the consumer market have trackpads, in which my opinion are a whole lot better when it comes to navigating to different programs as well as general use.

giphy.gifIt's very useful if you are doing a lot of writing, as you don't need to move your hand away from keyboard to type. That's why I buy only thinkpads, because o other stupid manufacturer hadn't put any of these on their own models

That's gorgeous. Definitely a contender for my ultrabook replacement. Hopefully it gets a massive battery.

It's coming out. There's no question about that.

They've already stated it won't be priced that  high.

They all still have the internal structural support, do they not?

With the info I have gathered then you are looking at a T470, which has gone through some cosmetic changes to look more like a T420, but they are still missing the bottom left and right click buttons, which kinda makes me sad since I hate that integrates left and right click track pad.

Looks an awful like your old ThinkPad lol but then again ThinkPads have always kinda looked the same or not too much difference.

My first laptop didn't have a trackpad. Just the nip and two buttons for controlling the cursor. Fun times. (was an IBM ThinkPad, if memory serves)

Was it by chance a G40? Because my G40 only had a trackpoint. Presumably because most of it was battery and heatsink...

Nah. Not even close.

I remember it being fairly slim, even though it had a floppy drive. On-lid adjustment for brightness and contrast. Screen was black and white.

I'll try to see if it's still anywhere in storage or if I can track it down on the intertubes.

I'm 110% it only had a trackpoint and that it was IBM, since those were pretty much the only things you could find around here.

edit:

@iamdarkyoshi it might have been a Thinkpad 300 or something very similar (I think the floppy drive was on the right back corner, not the front corner on the right)
