Lenovo might release a retro thinkpad

suicidalfranco

Early on the day Lenovo seems to have accidentally uploaded an image of what looks like to be a retro version of the high esteemed ThinkPad line. The picture was promptly removed as soon Reddit users noticed the leak

The device is now rumoured to come around October to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the notebook's line.

would it come with the retro pricing and hardware specs with IO tier too? The equivalent today would be thunderbolt 3.

If lenovo still doesnt make laptops like IBM used to i will not buy or recommend either as currently their pricing and hardware choices absolutely suck.

Am I the only one who hates the shroom mouse?   I wonder if it will come with retro-fish adware too...

My first laptop didn't have a trackpad. Just the nip and two buttons for controlling the cursor. Fun times. (was an IBM ThinkPad, if memory serves)

It's so beautiful, as is my Lenovo Thinkpad X131e.

This classic design is almost perfect, I would love this with some gaming components, perhaps an i5 paired with a 1060 for some decent gaming on the go for a good price.

IBM made the old ones, they should do it.  By the way, new thinkpads like mine still have trackpoints (the red tit on the keyboard.

i think 99% of buisness style laptops do, i have it and the first thing i did after i got my hands on this laptop was disableing it. they are garbage and need to die.

what size would this laptop be? id be up for it if it was like 13"

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

The aesthetics of this laptop look good, but the little red nittle in the middle of the keyboard is pointless in this day in age, because the majority of laptops on the consumer market have trackpads, in which my opinion are a whole lot better when it comes to navigating to different programs as well as general use. The media buttons on top of the laptop keyboard and also the traditional key design that lenovo used in their previous laptops definitely brings the whole "vintage" look to them. I wonder if the keyboard feels clicky to type on, because that was common on older laptops.

Why oh why does it have to be an "anniversary edition"? People want the old keyboard back and not because of nostalgia! In all likelyhood this will be a prohibitively expensive limited edition and if nothing else it will remind us of how low the design has fallen since the golden days...

Wow, that's pretty nice of them. The good ol' nipple, the keyboard, the function row at the top...

But I'm here to ask, will it be as indestructible as the old ThinkPads?
