Yeah, but considering Dell can squeeze a bigger battery into a smaller package it...bothers me.

It is a smaller battery in the Dell m8, sure the Lenovo one sticks a bit out if you want the big one,  but it is very minimal and they aren't build to the same standard, the T470 is made to be able to withstand drops and spills, while the XPS 13 isn't. You can put a 2.5" drive into the T470 while you can't do that in the xps 13, you can upgrade the ram in the T470 while you can't do that in the XPS 13, that alone takes up a lot of space, the CPU in the T470 is allowed to use 25W Vs 15W in the XPS 13, the T470 has a docking port. All of that stuff you get in a T470 over the XPS 13 is something that requires space.
