Worlds Smallest GTX 1080

Just saw this pop up over on Techspot. Would be curious to see how it performs, the clocks seem a bit low compared to other non-reference 1080's but then they aren't under 7" long!

 

I guess this would be fantastic for smaller rigs as I believe the smallest card other than this is the 1070 mini, would love to see some benchmarks run on it and see how much it throttles when really pushed and inside a compact case

my 1080 can easily get to 85C and thats the EVGA FTW card, so I'm also wondering how it performs

Depends, if by cool you mean below 85C, yes.

I mean below 83, that's what my 980 Ti maxes at.

I really doubt it, it will probably be like the FE. 85-90C, unless you run the fan at 100%.

Wahoo! Didn't notice I was up there. I don't post as much as I used to though, I've mostly been on the MMCC (Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club) forums.

Considering its small form factor size, cooling would have to be good especially if your overclocking your GPU. The small form factor design would certainly benefit people with small form factor builds.

Agreed, the fact it comes with a Gaming and OC profile (I know I know...) and they list them pretty predominantly in the specs, they must at least believe people are going to overclock the poor little thing

the 1070 mini-itx oc cooled pretty decently, so i have high hopes for this 1080.

Yessss this is exactly what I want! I thought I'd have to settle for a 1070 Mini but this changed that entirely. Hopefully they don't price it too high.

The 1070 ITX card actually did quite well. Same design, so I imagine the same will be true for this one.

Gonna have to be based on the Vega 56 though.

Not necessarily.  We know the V64 is heavily overvolted, likely due to a lack of binning.  I would hope they'd do a better job of binning for cards that are intended to be smaller in size.  If they can get the voltage under control, it might be just fine.

Would it kill them to use copper? I mean it's just impractical to consider a 1080 that size using aluminum.
