Higher FPS in virtualbox?

Go to solution Solved by igormp,

You'd need to have hw acceleration on the VM, which would require either GPU paravirtualization or GPU passthrough, and then plug the GPU output into a monitor just for the VM itself (or use some solution like looking glass).

tldr; no, you can't change the refresh rate on virtualbox, and afaik no other hypervisor either.

damn that sucks, i tried doing the gpu passthrough, but my bios literally doesn't have the option for it, and i don't rlly want to sacrifice 1 monitor, to get higher fps lol
