Not the way I want it, besides the 1080ti is just the barely enough for ultrawide 1440p max out 60fps, coming titles might even already be a bit too demanding, to be sure I will have the user experience I want I will wait for it.

titan and x80Ti cards have less than 10% difference and close to 40-50% price bump so it never makes sense to go titan over Ti SLI

I'll only get the Volta Titan if it's the full die right out of the gate. Otherwise I'll just hang onto the 1080 Ti until NVidia releases the full Titan or just get the Volta Ti. No full die = no buy.

Yes I have that thought as well, if it is like it were in Maxwell the full deal since beggining then yes, if there will be a TITAN Xv later again all that nonsense then I might reconsider.

It does if you don't want to wait 5-6 months for 80 Ti cards vs Titans. Titans are usually early adopters taxes for the generation's big die.

If money wasn't an issue, I'd also just get the Titan XP and water cool it. Won't have to deal with the hassle with SLI.

It was a very accurate video though. It said Poor Volta(ge), and they clearly tried to cover up the voltage.

As we've seen from overclocked FE tests,  they really wanted to cover up the voltage, and power draw. It's clearly a sign in the video saying sorry, since your poor power power company is going to bend you over if you have Vega.

This is a very bad sign. I am fairly sure AMD did this as well at some show.

It's essentially admitting that it can't keep up with the competition, but it will be shown in a scenario where it will be hard to tell a difference anyway.

 

It's basically like putting on vsync and going "see? Both our card and our competitors gets 60 FPS so therefore they are just as good as each other, and you don't really need more than 60 FPS anyway right?".

 

It's moving away from objective testing in favor of subjective evidence which might only hold true for that particular test.

60 FPS vs 100 FPS might not matter that much today, but I would still want the faster card (assuming other things were equal) even though the difference would not show up in a 60 FPS capped game.

Even if the performance difference doesn't matter in games today, in a few years from now the difference might be 30 FPS vs 60 FPS instead of 60 FPS vs 100 FPS.

I would honestly not be surprised if AMD fans start using that as a legit validation for the "poor volta" claim.

Kind of like how they justified the "you will be able to overclock this thing like no tomorrow. This is an overclocker's dream" claim by saying it was just about the cooler, not the card.
