Eh. I mean, sure, cool and all, but they're useless for probably 90%+ of the people on this forum.

Also what the hell is the point of the Kaby Lake X? All it has are marginally better clock speeds at a higher TDP, which frankly I think you could just get from OCing a regular i7.

Previous L3 numbers were a total of L2 and L3 cache together.  Apparently they are bumping L2 cache to 1 MB (up from 256k) and L3 cache will be 1.375 MB.  Total combined will be 2.375 MB per core.  28.5 MB for the new 12c part per the old standard used for Broadwell-E and older. 

 

We'll get more out of the quadrupled L2 cache, then we'll lose in the slightly reduced L3 cache.  

 

Intel isn't stupid.
